The Irish Cultural Centre of New England is in need of an internship position filling. If
you are interested in or have experience in public relations, marketing, or general office tasks—
for instance, answering the phone or updating websites, then this is most likely the internship
opportunity for you. At the ICC, our mission is to promote and organize Irish cultural,
educational, sporting and social events. We aim to establish and sustain a facility where current
and future generations of the New England community can participate in activities that promote
Irish culture and heritage. Our events are largely what attract a following, and proper promotion
for those events is essential in order to spread the culture and heritage the way we intend to. This
would mean posting information on our website as well as social networking so that advertising
is done appropriately for max results.
Another crucial element we stress at the ICC is teamwork—the ability to work as a unit
with your co-workers, just like we work with other organizations to spread Irish culture. Without
communication as a unit it can become very difficult to accomplish tasks, which could affect
both business as well as our mission. Being an intern here includes doing your own assigned
tasks as well as helping a co-worker with his or her job so that we are more efficient as a group.
