c. Puppet Theatre- Students will add characterization to their puppets using vocal variation.

b. Performanimprovised renditionof the beginning,middle,andendof storythe heardin
class.
c. Performa storyas it isread inreal time by the teacher,incorporatingvocal variation
elements,andnon-verbalcommunicationelements.
B. Essential Standards:
a. 1.C.1

C. Materials
a. Puppets
b. Children’sStoryBooks
c. Puppetmaterialsformaintenance andupdatesasneeded.
D. Strategies:
a. Studentswill listentoastory,and thenusingcraft materialsasgraphicorganizers,draw,
paint,outline,etcthe beginning,middle,andendof the story.
b. Studentswill be separatedintogroups:Beginning,Middle,andEnd.Eachgroup will act
out the specifiedportionof the story,usingimprovisationasnecessary.
c. Studentswill performastoryas read by the teacher,incorporatingnon-verbal
communicationandvocal variation.
