2. Idea/Approach Details
⮚ Medicine ATM is a machinery model with the collaborative
approach of both mechanical and information technology. It’s
designed with the idea of reducing the manpower by replacing
them with the machine and to make use of pharmacist knowledge
in a better way to provide counselling to the patients regarding
drug, disease and diet.
⮚ The rough prototype of the machine is to dispense the medication
with the use of barcode generated by the hospital for the
respective prescription and thereby proceeding to payment
through their mode of convenience either by ATM card or by UPI
transactions.

3. Idea/Approach Details
Medicine ATM is an advanced technology also known
as “Health Automated Teller Machine” wherein the
health card plays major role in medicine ATM. Health
card consists of bar code to scan and patient’s
demographic data and patient’s medication are
displayed in screen when the bar code is scanned.
Looking through its benefits, through health card we
can avail cashless hospitalization. Health card serves as
an identity for individual for their treatment.
Through this technology we can avoid medication
errors, abbreviations errors and cost related to
furniture, racks, cupboard etc., in pharmacy sector.
It is huge platform where the patient consult with
specialized and certified physician and receive
prescription through a health card for long term
diseases (hypertension, diabetes mellitus, etc.,) in multi-
speciality hospitals.

⮚ SUMMARY
⮚ Medicine ATM is a hospital-generated machine that
dispenses prescribed medicine using barcodes,
reducing manpower and improving pharmacist
knowledge. It uses software for interaction, payment,
and patient counseling, benefiting society by
increasing drug awareness, reducing pharmacy
crowds, and avoiding errors.
