The document describes a usability test of a chore board prototype. Two users completed tasks with the prototype and answered questions about their experience. Both users found the chore board mostly easy to use and beneficial for task tracking, though they noted some areas for improvement like adding more tasks, simplifying the reset function, and using color coding. They rated their satisfaction from 3-5 out of 5 and their likelihood of using the board regularly from 4-5 out of 5.

tell me your thought process out loud. Please keep in mind that this is a limited functionality
prototype.
Task 1
Please utilize the pieces you want and customize a board that you would use for your home
chores.
1. How was this task?
2. Were there any pieces that you wish there were but aren’t there?
Task 2
You’ve just [Fed the dog in the morning and did the laundry]. Please indicate this on your chore
chart.
1. How was this task?
Task 3
It is now Monday and your daily and weekly chores reset, but you would rather them reset at
midnight and on Sundays. Please change the reset time on your board.
1. How was this task?
2. Post Task Questions

a. Why?
3. User 1
1. My girlfriend
2. Feed dog, clean bathroom, water plants, do laundry, dishes, trash, vacuum, dust, wipe
counters, fold blankets
3. Don’t keep track, memory alone
4. 3 or 4
a. Reduce entropy, keep things in line, chores aren’t everything though
Task 1
1. Wish there was more room, not enough for daily tasks
2. Cleaning kitchen, wiping counters
Task 2
1. Easy. [Took the user a second to find the laundry magnet] Color coded would probably help
me find chores easier
Task 3
1. Pretty easy but a little unintuitive. Thought days would roll over to the next day when
hitting midnight, like when setting a reminder on iphone. Didn’t know they all functioned
separately
Post Task Questions
1. 4
a. It did what I want. Didn’t rate 5 because it wasn't super easy, buttons weren't very
intuitive, and having daily weekly monthly next to each other was confusing
2. 3
a. The bottom panel interface was the only difficult part
3. 4
a. It was functional for what I needed, just needs a couple improvements
4. User 2
5. I live alone
6. Do laundry, wash dishes, meal prep, vacuum, clean kitchen, tidy up (desk and table), water
plant, take out trash and recycling
7. I don’t really keep track, I just do them when I think they need to be done
8. 4
a. Would probably help me have a higher standard for cleanliness in my apartment,
and keep it clean all the time
Task 1
3. Good, I really liked the customization aspect and the pictures are really cute
4. Meal prep, general tidying up
Task 2
2. That was really easy, the sliders feel nice too
Task 3
2. It was medium. Didn’t entirely understand what the reset time thing meant, and I didn’t
know if I should press OK or the set button again to set it
Post Task Questions
4. 4
a. I really liked this board, it would be super useful for me. The reset thing got me a
little confused though
5. 3
a. The magnets are simple and easy to use but the reset panel is harder
6. 5
a. I would really want this board to keep track of things, it’s really cute too, maybe just
wouldn’t change the reset panel
