• IPV4 stands for INTERNET PROTOCOL VERSION 4
• It is intoduced in 1981
• It is one of the core protocols of standard based internetworking
methods in the internet and other packet switched network
• IPV4 was the first version, deployed for production on
SATNET(Atlantic packet satellite network) in 1982 and on the
ARPANET.
• It still routes most internet traffic today despite advance on going
IPV6
• It developed by DARPA(Defence advance research and development)
