2. By 9:00 Am in the morning, 23rd February 2018 we set up our journey
on our way to Mahindra world city for our industrial visit to Srinivas
Fashions. After a 6 months long request by our faculties we got
permission to visit that place on that day. As we got into the industry, he
showed us a lot about the various types of fabric defects and then later
on we were directed to the trims and accessories department. There at
first starting with ribbons Mr. Philip showed us a wide variety of ribbons
and asked us to guess where they are used. Though we couldn’t guess all
of them, we could name a few. He gave us details about its usage and the
material it is made of. Once we were done with ribbons he showed us
the various kinds of laces. He showed us the decorative as well as
productive laces. He showed us laces that are broad as well as narrow.
He even showed us laces that had a definite function in a garment and
those that were used just for the sake of flaunting. After completing
laces, we went ahead to have a look at the different buttons. In the
button section, he showed us various varieties of buttons, buttons in
various colors and shapes and also that were used for various purposes.
He explained us various concepts of how buttons vary from each other
and why they come in different shapes and sizes. Completing these
sections, at last we went to the sewing thread section. There we saw
different types of sewing threads in different GSM and different
volumes. After completing the overall analysis of the sections, we were
asked to assemble in an area where he explained about why we use trims
and decorations. After our visit we requested him a few trims for our
projects. He accepted our request and gave us samples from all the
different variety of trims available. After all these, we completed our
visit and returned back gratefully. On the whole the visit to that industry
gave us a very good experience and knowledge about the usage of
various trims and decorations. On behalf of entire VFIT, we thank Mr.
