MARKING SHEET FOR STUDENT ASSIGNMENTS

Module: Counselling Skills Diploma Final
This marking sheet contains your tutors comments and feedback on the work you have submitted.
In line with the awarding bodies' marking regulations, each question will either be marked as OBJECTIVE MET (this
means that the student has included all the necessary information in their answer to satisfy the Learning Objective.
The tutor may or may not comment on the work) or OBJECTIVE NOT MET (this means that the student has not
included sufficient information in their answer to satisfy the Learning Objective. The tutor will indicate what needs to be
included in order to satisfy the Learning Objective.) If the Learning Objective is NOT MET, the student will need to
resubmit additional information for the answer in order to meet the Learning Objective. ALL Learning Objectives MUST
be PASSED in order to progress.
At the end of the mark sheet the student will be issued a grade, only a pass or fail grade will be awarded. In order
to achieve a pass grade ALL objectives will need to be met.
QUESTION GRADES:
Question 1 Passed. Comment: A good answer covering the basics of counselling.
Question 2 Passed. Comment: Good answer. The formation of trust is also vital.
Question 3 Passed. Comment: Correct. Active listening involves using all the senses and perceptions to build a
picture of the client and their situation.
Question 4 Passed. Comment: Good explanation. The newness of the first interview is important, and a vast
amount of work on building the relationship occurs here.
Question 5 Passed. Comment: Well identified and explained.
Question 6 Passed. Comment: Good. In other words, help them to find their own solutions.
Question 7 Passed. Comment: Good explanation.
Question 8 Passed. Comment: It can also give the impression of being open minded.
Question 9 Passed. Comment: Well chosen factors. Well done.
Question 10 Passed. Comment: Correct. The direction of the motivation is also important.
Question 11 Passed. Comment: Correct. Good examples given.
Question 12 Passed. Comment: Correct. Also include "not listening"
Question 13 Passed. Comment: Well distinguished and defined.
Question 14 Passed. Comment: Correct. There is also anticipated grief, where the death or event is expected.
Question 15 Passed. Comment: Correct. The important factor here is if the persons expectation has been
violated, then the reaction will be more acute (eg if someone dies unexpectently).
Question 16 Passed. Comment: Good answer.
Question 17 Passed. Comment: Correctly identified and discussed.
Question 18 Passed. Comment: Correct. Depression may be reactive, and makes problem solving on a daily
basis, more difficult.
Question 19 Passed. Comment: Correct. Also look at sleep, concentration and eating patterns.
Question 20 Passed. Comment: Correct. Also centre on empowerment.
