2. Situation: From crime to a lack of
affordable healthcare, West Garfield
Park faces problems that deeply affect
the children living there. Off the Street
Club is a place where these children can
be safe and have a brighter future.
However, without funding, the programs
that help these kids can’t be maintained.
Goal: Raise $5k in donations for OTSC
by developing a sustainable,
overarching campaign that has the
ability and scale to extend beyond the
walls of Havas Chicago.
3. Hope outweighs any obstacle we face in
our childhood. Children everywhere should
be reminded that they are much more than
their circumstances, and that there is
something beautiful in childhood itself.
Hope outweighs any obstacle we
face in our childhood. Children
everywhere should be reminded
that they are much more than
their circumstances, and that

4. Create a team of superheroes that symbolize
the hopeful children of OTSC. The designs
will be featured on merchandise that will be
available for purchase.
5. Everyone loves to use the word hero. We use it to describe movie characters, leaders, soldiers, parents,
first responders, and even sports stars.
But, what makes someone a hero? Is it someone who captures our imagination on the silver screen or on
the field? Or is it someone who dedicates their life to keeping us safe? And what do all of these heroes
have in common?
Maybe heroes are people who will never back down from a challenge. People whose hope can overpower
any and all obstacles that fall in their way. People who strive to make their community a better place.
No group of people can encapsulate these traits better than the kids from Off the Street Club. That’s why
we’re proud to introduce you to the Heroes Next Door.
6.
7. … Where every kid is faced with real world struggles, eight superheroes
learn to utilize their unique superpowers to overcome everyday issues.
Every superpower is inspired by characteristics of OTSC. Serving as the
headquarters for these Heroes Next Door, OTSC will be the “universe”
that binds our heroes together.
The villains in our stories will be portrayed by non-violent issues that
kids face in their everyday lives.
The heroes will not only use their abilities to overcome these tensions,
but they will develop overall positive character traits.
8. ● Cover art designed by artists that tell
each hero’s story through their
interpretation.

stories to life online.

Arnett comforts Zora to help her realize her biggest power, yet she must remember the biggest
threat of all: The Outside. Together the team struggles to build their powers up together as one
unit, but at the end of the trailer, Zora reaches an epiphany: her power is leadership. They work
together with this newfound confidence.

29. Zora Robinson
Serving as the headquarters for the Heroes Next Door, OTSC is packed with different types of superheroes, and each superhero is
encouraged to find their superpower. For some heroes, finding their superpower comes naturally, but others have a difficult time
finding theirs.
Zora Robinson has just turned 18 and is in her senior year of high school. She is not only nervous about graduating high school and
having to take on the real world, but she is intimidated by her peers who have already found their superpowers. She has tried
everything: playing basketball with Olympia Swoopes, roller skating with Turbo, and even computer hacking with Tera Byte, but she
still hasn’t found her powers. She is starting to think she doesn’t have powers at all. Although she feels as if she doesn’t fit in, the
other superheroes admire her genuine and caring nature. She tries to hide her fear by cheering on her peers when they are using their
superpowers. She’s always there to give uplifting words or advice to the other superheroes. She truly wants to see them succeed.
When her fear of braving the real world gets to be too much, all the superheroes must team up together. As her fear manifests, it
begins to take over OTSC. Fear engulfs even the most powerful superheroes. Zora knows this is her villain and she immediately takes
charge. She rallies the superheroes together and devises a plan to beat fear. She begins delegating tasks to her team based on their
superpowers. Knowing her team and their strengths, she is able to strategize and direct the team on how to beat the villain and save
OTSC. In the end, she finds her true superpower is leadership.
30. Captain Innovation
The kids of OTSC are preparing for the annual hover car derby competition, and each must learn the ins-and-outs of assembling a car.
Each part and its function must be committed to memory, and Anthony is extremely excited for the big race, since he will be the one
riding in the car. Anthony learned every part on his own and found new ways to put different cars together. He even built OTSC a
brand new practice car with a jet-fueled turbo engine and brand new design model. He decided to show #8 around the Soap Box
Derby room as he puts the finishing touches on his car for the race tomorrow. Letting her in on a secret, he shares that he heard that
racing with power boosters will help him win, even though it is illegal if he is caught.
Knowing right from wrong, she explains the value of honesty and integrity. She explains that doing the right thing and following the
rules of the competition is the way things should be done, and that character is who you are when no one else is looking. He learns
that it is better to lose fairly than to win while cheating, and ultimately decides not to use power boosters in the race.
Once he’s given some time to think things over, he decides to go into the race fairly. #8 watches the hover car derby the next day, and
Anthony wins the race by a landslide. After the race, he explains that he found a new way to improve the car by adding wings made of
super sleek plexiglass. She explains how proud she is that he did the right thing, and nicknames him “Captain Invention”. Anthony
thanks her for being so wise, and OTSC celebrates the Hover Car Derby victory.
Through the story, we learn that being innovative is a superpower. Through her leadership, we see a trait of another true hero.
31. Tera Byte
Tera Byte is 12 year old technology wizard. She loves science and math, and she writes code so fluently you would think it was her first
language. When she taps into her powers lightning flows from her fingertips, her hair glows with electric currents and she enters into a
digital universe only few tech wizards know exists. She is confident in her abilities and sees herself working for NASA one day. She’s
currently working on hacking into their system.
When outside hackers invade West Garfield Park, they take control of the electricity. Night after night the neighborhood experiences
power outages. She decides it’s time to take matters into her own hands. She works tirelessly to hack into the city’s electricity grid to
override the shut down. She immerses herself into the other universe. She sees the invader and knows they will not be defeated
easily. After a long technology battle she is ready to give in. Though frustrated with herself, she knows she can’t give up. She takes a
deep breath and channels her true grit. Her hair begins to glow. The electric currents are visibly running through her veins. She lifts
her hands and shoots lightning from her fingertips. She is able to override the shut down and take back control of the grid. She designs
her own firewall forcefield to protect the grid that the city of Chicago will later deem unhackable.
For her work and bravery she is awarded a scholarship to NASA Space Camp and continues to use her powers to keep OTSC and West
Garfield Park safe (after she finishes her homework).

Make the QR code into the OTSC logo. Think about different types of shapes
Villains should be more tactical, super has to overcome their own fear. Consider our soft villain the kryptonite.
Go more empathetic. More provocative statements. JOHN LOVES CLICHES. Renarrate and redefine. Should be just do it kind of messages. Can be turned into t-shirts
Make posters bigger. Being optimistic. Let's make a movie. Write a trailer for the movie. Think about the villian. LETS REALLY MAKE A MOVIE
LOVED THE PRESENTERS! GREAT PRESENTATION. LOVED THE SIMPLICITY. WANT MORE OF AN BRAINSTORMING EXPERIENCE OF LUNCHEON

Main character(girl) is leaving OTSC and hasn’t figured out her “superpower”.
We have created a team of superheroes that symbolize these hopeful children of Off The Street Club. The designs will be featured on comic book poster format that will be available for purchase. The issues these heroes face will not be violent. Instead, they will be daily struggles in this case. For example, an issue at school, or something as simple as going on an adventure to get popsicles.

Playing basketball against other super powered kids can be really tough, especially when you’re the smallest one on the team. NAME loves the game, but no one thinks she can keep up, and she’s starting to believe them. She continues to practice everyday until her super jumping power develops into the power of flight. When finally given the chance to prove how big her game is, she blows everyone away with her new power.

It is important to ask these questions because we want to add more personable characteristics to the superheros. (If we get time to do this) This would have to be on a Monday due to the kids being at camp in Weton Tues-Fri.
Younger kids: break down in some of the questions. Add a slide in for the focus group/game-like way to asking the kids the questions.
