2. DEFINATION
 Removable appliance constructed to cover
tissues or teeth for protection , carry
medication carry radium or control bleeding

3. USES
 Carry medication and surgical pack
 Promote healing (as preventing
contamination of fresh wounds)
 Control bleeding (hemophilic patients )
 Protect tissues after skin and mucousal
grafts
 Protect teeth (contact support)
 Preserve depth of mucobuccal vestibule
 Carry radium material

4. MATERIAL OF FABRICATION
 Acrylic resin: Hear or cold cure aceyli resin
are used
 soft materials : soft rubber or soft resins
(silicon vinyl may be used)
 Moldeing plastic used in emergency cases

5. TYPES OF STENTS
 Stents in plastic surgery of alveolar ridge
 Used in conjunction to surgery for surgical
Deeping of muccobuccal vestibule and for
holding mucous membrane and skin graft

7. MOUTH GUARD FOR CONTACT SUPPORT
 Protect the teeth and jaws from injury during
contact support as boxing
 It is made from resilient material to absorb
the impact

8. ANTI-HEMORRHAGIC STENT

area in patient with tendency to bleed

mucosal garfting or surgical removal palatal
tori

15. NIGHT GUARD
 removable acrylic appliance intended to
relieve temporomandibular joint pain and
other effects of grinding the teeth (bruxism).
Usually worn at night to prevent grinding
during sleep.
