2. A native of the Ukraine, Semyon “Sam” Kislin
established Trans Commodities Inc. nearly three
decades ago and continues to serve as chairman.
Prior to this role, Sam Kislin successfully
launched Joy Lud Electronics. His entrepreneurial
spirit has garnered him numerous opportunities
to give back to his community and support
organizations, like the UJA-Federation of New
York.
In March of 2015, the UJA-Federation of New
York proudly announced its investment in two
Israeli social impact funds.
3. The organization invested a total of $1 million in
IVN and Dualis, funds that have companies under
their umbrella that not only raise revenue, but
work toward supporting their communities. In
fact, the funds’ businesses dedicate time and
financial support to a variety of initiatives,
including assisting special needs individuals and
senior citizens. Specifically, Dualis offers
teenagers who are at risk of dropping out of
school and committing crimes a form of career
development through a restaurant-based
program, which teaches structure and a good
work ethic.
