To whom it may concern:
It is my pleasure to write a recommendation for Salma Tazi. Salma was a student in one of my
classes. She understands key mathematical concepts as well as the knowledge to teach these
concepts to students at different levels of the achievement spectrum. She has taught geometry
and discrete math to high school students, and provided interesting ideas for teaching algebra
for understanding in my class.
Salma has an interesting background, including work in business and finance, so has no
problem convincing kids that mathematics is useful. She has shown that she can handle the
work of teaching full time and also taking graduate level classes. This is not an easy task.
Salma’s work in my algebra for teachers class was well done and she was eager for
ideas of ways to improve her teaching. She can be a leader, but also is a good team player.
In conclusion, I am happy to recommend Salma Tazi as a teacher of mathematics. She
will be an asset to your program. If you have questions, you can reach me at the above
address, by phone at 617-353-4226, or email at cfindell@bu.edu.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Dr. Carol R. Findell
