3.  A pair of kidneys are present in living
organisms
 The main role of kidneys are to excret the toxin
substance
 The kidneys are excretory organs

4.  Kidneys are a pair of excretory organs
 These are situated on the posterior abdominal
wall.
 They removed waste products like metabolism
and excess water from the blood

5.  The kidney occupy the epigastric ,hypocondric
lumber and umbilical regions
 The right kideny is slightly lower than the left
kideny.

6.  Each kideny is about -11cm long
 Broad-6cm
 Thickness -3cm
 Weight in males – 150gm
 Weight in females – 135gm
 weight in childrens -80 to 100 (approxmently)
 Weight in at birth - 40 to 60(approxmently)
 The shape of kidney is Been shaped

7.  It has upper and lower poles, medial and lateral
borders, and anterior and posterior surfaces .
Two poles:
upper pole:broad
lower pole :pointed
Two surfaces:
anterior surface :irregular
posterior surface :flat
Two borders:
medial:hilum
laterial -convex

8. Relation of right kidney
 Liver , right suprarenal gland,liver , small
interstain
Relation of left kideny
* Stomach , spleen , jejunum , pancreas .

9.  The fibrous capsule:
This is a thin membrane it is closely invests the
kidney and lines the renal sinus
* Renal facia :
The peri renal fascia was orginally described
as up of two separate layers
* posterior layer called fascia zuckerkandali and
anterior layer as fascia of gerota

10.  The kideny consists three parts by the
examination of naked eye
1)An outer cortex
2)An inner medulla
3)A space the renal sinus

11.  The blood supply of kidney is renal artaries
branch off the abdominal aorta .

12.  The lymphatics of the kideny drain into the
lateral aortic nodes located at the leval region
of (L2)
 It is parallels to the venous drinage system
after the leaving of renal hilum.
