PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to advance workplace safety through the elimination of a potential
fire hazard, promote the health and wellbeing of all Caraustar associates, and to encourage
increased productivity through reduced time away from work stations.
POLICY
Caraustar prohibits the use of all tobacco products (traditional cigarettes, e-cigarettes,
chew, pipes, cigars, hookah or waterpipe smoking, snus, snuff, smokeless pouches, etc.),
anywhere on Company property, including leased properties. This would include
buildings, grounds, parking lots, all vehicles, etc.
For those associates who would like to participate in a tobacco cessation program, Caraustar will
provide the Quit For Life program at no cost to the associate. The phone number for Quit For
Life is 1-866-QUIT-4-LIFE (1-866-784-8454).
RESPONSIBILITIES
It is the responsibility of all associates subject to this policy to comply with the policy. Human
Resources Administrators, Supervisors and Managers are responsible for enforcing the policy
and ensuring compliance with the policy. Corporate Human Resources is responsible for
interpreting and maintaining the policy. This policy may be changed, modified or removed at
the discretion of the Company.
Associates may access this policy through their Human Resources Administrator or on the
Company Intranet at http://www.caraustar.net.
Complaints of non-compliance with this policy may be made to local facility management,
Corporate Human Resources, or to the Company Hotline.
