Child Abuse Child abuse is when a parent or caregiver, whether through action or failing to act, causes injury, death, emotional harm or risk of serious harm to a child. Social services helps these children and let them know that they are not alone and they are there to help them get through this situation that they are facing. Children face different situations every day and individuals who are child care providers or educators comfort children who face issues like child abuse. Children who face child abuse are affected and they have to get counseling or talk the situation out, because if they don’t they will drink or even get in an abusive relationship which is not healthy for them. If you know children who are being abuse and neglect you need to report the situation to Social services so they are able to provide the services that are needed for the child.

In this article it discussed the different types of neglect, Physical neglect and inadequate supervision Emotional Neglect, Medical neglect, and educational neglect. The different types of neglect can affect the child in many ways and we as educators and any adult needs to make sure that the children are not being harm or in danger. This article also shows the signs which you need to look for when you believe a child is facing any one of these neglects.

Physical Abuse- Physical abuse of a child is when a parent or
caregiver causes any non-accidental physical injury to a child.
Sexual Abuse - Sexual abuse occurs when an adult uses a child
for sexual purposes or involves a child in sexual acts. It also
includes when a child who is older or more powerful uses
another child for sexual gratification or excitement. Emotional
Abuse- When a parent or caregiver harms a child’s mental and
social development, or causes severe emotional harm, it is
considered emotional abuse. Child Neglect -Child neglect is
when a parent or caregiver does not give the care, supervision,
affection and support needed for a child’s health, safety and
well-being.

In this article it describes what child abuse is and the types of
abuse and how we as individuals understand child abuse. Child
abuse is more than bruises or broken bones. While physical
abuse is shocking due to the scars it leaves, not all child abuse
is as obvious. When children are being ignored children’s
needs, putting them in unsupervised, dangerous situations, or
making a child feel worthless or stupid are also child abuse.

safe act of 2003 are part of the legislation addressing issues of
child abuse in the United States. When conducting a research it
is always important to identify the Acts and policies associated
with those issues and concerns. By identifying the acts and
policy you will be able to determine what needs to be done and
if you have situation with a child who is facing child abuse you
will be able to read the policy and then this will show if you are
getting treated right.
