Applications of oscillation in medicine and hospitals.
Some of the applications are ultrasound imaging, Electrocardiogram, Magnetic Resourse Imaging, Blood pressure measurement, Respiratory monitoring, Vibrational Therapy.

Introduction
3
Oscillations are a fundamental
concept in physics,
engineering, and many other
fields. They are all around us,
from the motion of a pendulum
to the sound waves that we
hear. In this presentation, we
will explore the basics of
oscillations and some of their
medical applications

OSCILLATIONS
Oscillation is defined as
the process of repeating
variations of any quantity
or measure about its
equilibrium value in time.
Oscillations can also be
defined as a periodic
variation of a matter
between two values or
about its central value. In
other words it is the
process of moving back
and forth regularly.
5. APPLICATIONS OF OSCILLATIONS
5
Oscillations have many real
world applications in various
fields such as Electrical
circuits, Mechanical
systems, Musical
instruments, Medical
imaging, Timekeeping,
Materials testing. Some
applications in medicine and
hospitals are described

Ultrasound waves are used to create images
of internal organs and tissues.The
ultrasound machine emits high-frequency
sound waves that bounce off the body’s
tissues and are then detected by the
machine. The resulting image is used to
diagnose medical conditions and monitor
fetal development during pregnancy.

ELECTROCARDIOGRAM
An ECG is a medical test that measures the
electrical activity of the heart. Electrodes
are placed on the skin of the chest and
limbs, and the resulting electrical signals
are recorded and analyzed. The ECG is used
to diagnose heart conditions and monitor
heart function.

MAGNETIC RESOURCE IMAGING
MRI uses strong magnetic fields and
radio waves to create detailed
images of internal organs and
tissues. The patient lies on a table
that slides into a tunnel-like
machine, and the resulting images
are used to diagnose medical
conditions and monitor treatment.

9. 07 BLOOD PRESSURE MEASUREMENT
Oscillometric blood pressure
measurement is a non-invasive
technique that uses an
inflatable cuff around the arm
to measure blood pressure.
The cuff is inflated to a
pressure that temporarily
stops the flow of blood, and
then slowly released to allow
blood flow. The oscillations in
blood pressure are detected
and used to measure blood
pressure.

RESPIRATORY MONITORING
Oscillometry is a technique used
to monitor respiratory function in
patients with lung disease.The
patient breathes through a
mouthpiece, and the resulting
oscillations in air flow and pressure
are detected and analyzed to
determine lung function.

VIBRATIONAL THERAPY
Vibrational therapy uses
oscillations to stimulate
healing in tissues and
bones. Devices such as
vibrating plates, massage
devices, and sound wave
therapy machines are
used to apply oscillations
to the body and promote
healing.
