• Tigers are majestic and powerful big cats
that have captured the imagination of people
for centuries.
• In this presentation, we will explore the
different types of tigers and learn fascinating
details about each of them.
4. THERE ARE SIX SUBSPECIES OF TIGERS TO
KNOWN
The six tiger species are
1. Bengal Tiger (Panthera Tigris Tigris)
2. Indochinese Tiger (Panthera Tigris corbetti)
3. Siberian Tiger (Panthera Tigris altaica)
4. Sumatran Tiger (Panthera Tigris sumatrae)
5. Malayan Tiger (Panthera Tigris jacksoni)

5. NO.1 BENGAL TIGER
‘’About Bengal Tiger’’
• The Bengal Tiger is the most numerous and
well-known subspecies.
• Habitat: Found in the Indian subcontinent
and parts of Nepal, Bhutan, and
Bangladesh.
• Physical Characteristics: Distinctive orange
coat with black stripes, powerful build, and
strong forelimbs.
• Interesting Fact: Bengal Tigers are excellent
swimmers and often cool off in water bodies
during hot weather.
6. NO.2 INDOCHINESE TIGER
’About Indochinese Tiger’’
• Habitat: Found in parts of Southeast Asia,
including Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos.
• Physical Characteristics: Smaller than the
Bengal Tiger, with a darker coat and
narrower stripes.
• Conservation Status: Listed as Endangered
due to habitat loss and poaching for their
body parts.
7. NO.3 SIBERIAN TIGER
“About Siberian Tiger”
• The largest subspecies of tiger and one of
the most iconic.
• Habitat: Primarily found in the forests of
Russia's Far East.
• Physical Characteristics: Thick fur and a
pale coat with fewer dark stripes.
• Conservation Status: Classified as
Endangered with a population of fewer than
500 individuals in the wild.
8. NO.4 SUMATRAN TIGER
“About Siberian Tiger”
• The smallest of all tiger subspecies.
• Habitat: Native to the Indonesian island of
Sumatra.
• Physical Characteristics: Darker fur and more
prominent facial hair compared to other
subspecies.
• Conservation Status: Critically Endangered,
with an estimated population of around 400
individuals.

“About Malayan Tiger”
• Habitat: Found in the southern tip of
Thailand and the Malay Peninsula.
• Physical Characteristics: Similar to the
Indochinese Tiger but with a darker coat.
• Conservation Status: Critically Endangered,
facing significant threats from habitat loss
and poaching.

subspecies is now considered possibly
extinct in the wild.
• Efforts for Revival: There are some
