Dispute
•A man and a tiger once had a dispute,
Which was reckoned greater, the man or the brute.
The tiger discovered on his side at some length,
And gently enlarge on his courage and strength ,
Said the man , ‘Don’t be prating ; look yonder , I pray,
At that sculpture of marble: now what will you say ?
The Tiger is vanquished : but as for the Man,
He is striding upon him :deny if you can.’
‘But pray,’ said the tiger, ‘who sculpture that stone?
‘One of us, ‘ said the man. ‘I must candidly own.’
‘but when we sculptors,’ the other replied,
‘You will then on the man see the tiger astride.’

Summary of the dispute
• Once a man and a Tiger had a dispute ‘Who is stronger’? Both give comments on
their own favor. But the man did not agree that the tiger has far more courage and
strength than the man. By showing the sculpture the man said that it was
evidence that man was stronger than the tiger. But the tiger asked him who had
carved the sculpture . The man replied that it was sculptured by some man. At
this, the tiger commented that if the sculpture was craved by a tiger, the tiger
would have been sitting as tride on the man’s back.
• The poem shows that we draw out conclusion about a thing by looking the way, it
has been presented. We are not ready to think or go beyond that.

ventures . This project aims at Tiger conservation in
specially constituted Tiger reserves representative of
various bio-geographical regions thought out India. It
strives to maintained a viable conservation reliant on tiger
population in their natural environment.
• Project tiger has been acknowledged by one and
all. And all the concerned people are cooperating
in the project in every possible way. Project Tiger
was Indira Gandhi’s pet project also. The main
achievements of this project are excellent recovery
of the natural habitat and consequent in the tiger
population in the RESERVE areas. It is evident by
the facts also that form a mere 268 in 7 reserves
in 1972 , the tiger population has reached up to
1411 in 28 reserves in 2009. even now this project
needs to keep up its pace so as to sustain this
rare species.
