When people talk about Digital Transformation (DT) in manufacturing companies, they frequently connect this concept to the automation of the production process. However, there are many other aspects that could be considered to unleash the potential of this transformation. Most of these aspects are related to the identification and the management of valuable information in the company that can be used both internally (to improve the overall processes) and externally (as new digital products/services). The talk will identify the main challenges and the related open technologies that can be adopted to support this aspect of the DT.
