One of the first film noir’s; Rebecca shows that in them days the budgets were small and the overall intake from the film was nothing in comparison to today’s films. For example; The Dark Knight. This film had a budget of $185,000,000. This is an astounding amount of money. Although it is nothing compared to the worldwide gross of the film. This film has made $1,001,945,358. This just goes to show how technology has changed to allow movies to be more elaborate by using special effects and green screens and CGI.
Touch of Evil was probably the last classic film noir. After this film in 1958, a lot of films were made that would be classed as film noirs but would actually be a hybrid film. This means that a number of different genres are put together for the film. For example; The Dark Knight. This film is made up of a comic, action, thriller and crime and shows influences of a film noir.
