2. I am good, but not an angel. I do sin,
but I am not the devil. I am just a small
girl in a big world trying to find
someone to love.
3. CYRIL
“You might be poor,
your shoes might be broken,
but your mind is a palace.” I
believe that this quote best
describes Cyril also known as
“Toto”, a 5-year old boy from
Veteran’s Village, Iloilo. At first, I
was hesitant to talk to this kid
because his face screams pity. I
asked him what does he wanted
in exchange of his help to our
project, “ Ambot kay mama” he
answered as he pointed at her
mom who was eagerly waiting for
a customer. He was there to help
his mom get customers. He said
that he is now a Kinder pupil. I
thought he wasn’t studying.
He also said that he wanted to be
an army. He wants to save the
country and be a hero. I was
touched, that little boy was
already aiming to be a somebody
on the future while some of us are
stressing for our grades. So I
realized that the first angel we
meet represents perseverance.
4. BARAK
“I might be poor but I’m
happy.” This was the answer
of Barak, a 10-year old boy
who was strolling with his bike
when we asked him how does
he feel being poor. He was all
smiling while we are
interviewing him. He seems not
bothered if he can still eat the
next day. You know what’s very
likely about him? He is very
approachable and he was not
hesitant to say yes when we
asked If he could help us with
our project. Maybe, this angel
is trying to tell us that we
should not forget to smile
everyday. We were all
occupied by our assignments,
projects and exams that we
forget to smile and make
others smile. So, this angel
represents happiness.
5. ALTHEA MAE
Meet Althea Mae also
known as “Atching”. She was asking
us if how do we feel studying at a
prestigious school, of course we
answered her that we feel lucky. So,
I also asked her if how does she feel
about life? She answered. “ I feel
contented. I eat three times a day
and I go to school.” I believe that if
her words was a knife, I’d be
wounded by now. I asked myself if I
was on her shoes, will I be contented
too? She is an inspiration to each
one of us that we should instill in our
hearts in our minds the value of
being contented, of not asking too
much. I hope this serves as a lesson
to each one of us that when we
grow up and become professionals,
we will not blinded by luxuries. So,
this angel we conversed with
represents contentment.
6. BARBIE
“ Sometimes I have to sit
down to see what’s above
me.” This was the answer of
Barbie from San Juan, Molo
when we asked her why is
she sitting on the ground.
She said that it is easy to
beg money if she sits down. I
think she is trying to say that
we should humble ourselves
if we want other people to
help us. Sometimes we are
overwhelmed by our
achievements that we forget
where we started. Well,
looking up is not enough, we
also need to look forward and
give the past a tap for
shaping us. This angel best
represents humility.
7. MIGUEL
You would think that
Miguel is not a street
children, but I consider him as
an angel, seriously. Not
because I feel butterflies in
my stomach when I’m with
him but because he was there
when I needed him the most.
He is the kind of person that
is not hard to love. Don’t get
me wrong, I was already over
him a long time ago. Miguel is
like a brother to me, so my
angel is. So, Miguel would
represent the angel of love.
8. “ I swim to win but I can also fly as an angel.
