1. As part of an initiative sponsored by the 1st
Sea Lord, the Engineering Support Division’s Support
Improvement Programme (SIP) has been tasked with placing temporary contractor liability into
DE&S at Abbey Wood in Bristol. The initial phase of these contractors commenced work on
Monday 22 June 2015. The remainder will start over the coming 2 months.
Ryan has been key in ensuring that the process of acquiring and placing this external assistance
has gone smoothly and to plan. He has been available constantly through out the recruitment
process by both email and telephone, keeping me updated and answering questions and providing
much needed support to me and my colleagues; he has been a valuable liaison with the
contractors and their respective agencies.
Ryan has delivered as promised on every occasion and established a fantastic working
relationship with the ES Division often pre-empting our queries. This rapport has enabled us here
in the division to learn and gain experience of the whole recruitment process. This in turn will
provide greater knowledge for future campaigns. Transfer of knowledge in programmes such as
this is essential for productive output and Ryan has certainly contributed to what, I hope, will be a
highly successful project outcome for both Navy Command and DE&S, with benefits being realised
over the coming years.
