Back to School
School is in full swing starting Monday, and students are gearing up for an interesting and exciting
semester. Going to the college bookstore at Bryant Student Center may seem overwhelming at first, but
with a knowledgeable and charismatic staff, one can make it an enjoyable experience.
Diana Murphy is a nursing student entering her second semester here at Carteret Community College.
When asked about her feelings of being back in school, she said it was strangely scary since she had not
been back in 20 years. She is taking the prerequisites necessary for advancement in the nursing
program, a field she wishes to pursue in her future. Flexibility of classes is one thing she says she likes
about CCC, coupled with an understanding staff and faculty. She said the faculty members helped her go
from someone who did not know where to start to the person she is today. Diana works full time and
has four children at home, something she says can make any semester an exciting one!
