PERSONAL PROFILE
I am currently working in a local restaurant/hotel (Old Coach House) as a commis chef again where I am
there to learn how to cook all foods, ranging from roasts to startersto sweets. I really like it but my goal is
to this in the oil and gas industry offshore.
WORK HISTORY
Since august last year I have been working in the catering industry as a commis chef ‘PlayBarn’ making sure
the prep was done before service had begun. I would prep the vegetables we would need for that upcoming
day or maybe if there was a large function on I would do it a day in advance to be more organised. I Plated
up all starters beforehand depending on if it was sensible to do so. I would cook some of the starters but
never the mains, was not allowed to go near the mains under any circumstances. Had a little bit of
experience in the sweets also but there was a desert women hired especially for that purpose. And I have
been at ‘Eight Acres’ hotel where as a commis again I plate up all starters, prep all startersand veg etc. A
good bit, if not all of this is done before service as this allows for smooth running and reduces the chance of
any complications. I also help with the cleaning down of the kitchen after service according with COSHH
(CONTROL OF SUBSTANCES HAZARDOUS TO HEALTH) regulations and standard

knife skills;itsimply did notmeet my expectations.

work locally and did this for a year.
• Again, I learned lots of new skills, and definitely learned all aboutworkingwell with a team
• I was assistingwith fittingdoors, windows, and ensuringthat the joinery team always had all the
equipment and tools they required to hand
• As this was a new build sitethere was a lot of machinery on site, and again, health and safety was
really important
