Amsterdam Shopping Theatre huge success
Amsterdam, 09 January 2020

Again long lines for the former site of Nemo , where for two weeks ' Shopping Theatre Amsterdam
is located . The Shopping Theatre is a unique innovative concept. Is it a store? Not in the
traditional sense of the word. You can buy products, but you come here primarily for the
experience. To create that special experience various creative entrepreneurs, such as architects ,
designers , ICT specialists, filmmaker, game developers , etc. have joined forces . The initial
impetus for this cooperation was given by the Chamber of Commerce . Ruud Mannaart of the
Chamber of Commerce indicates why. " Consumer behavior has fundamentally changed under the
influence of digitization . The retail had to reinvent themselves again. Not driven by product
transactions , but driven by completing the increased consumer demand for experience. That was
the reason why in 2014 we brought retail and creative industries together. After all they are
experts in creating a Wow! Feeling. By bringing together expertise and the latest technologies,
unexpected combinations occur. Unique for the Netherlands and beneficial for all participating
entrepreneurs . For this we have developed a new business model . I am very happy with the
result. My role of ‘Experiences Broker’ is well reflected into this project. Also, visitors are
enthusiastic. Visitor numbers surpass all expectations . Therefore, there are already ideas to roll
out the concept in other countries with the help of the Chamber of Commerce.
