the statue is a message
to the world:

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

the Statue of Liberty
was the first thing
that they would see
upon the arrival to
the United States

of hope & a promise
that they would find
opportunity here that
would allow them to
have better lives
