Traditional Indian herbal medicines and plants may help treat and prevent COVID-19 according to new research from India, the UK, and South Korea. Scientists found that plants used in traditional Indian medicine could potentially be used in face masks to better filter the virus and taken orally to slow infection and ease symptoms. The document then provides recommendations for general measures, simple Ayurvedic treatments, remedies for dry cough, and Ayurvedic immunity promoting measures to help treat COVID-19 symptoms based on traditional Indian herbal medicine.

1. ROLE OF NATURAL

2. Traditional Indian medicine, including herbs and oils,
might have a role to play in helping fight Covid-19,
according to new research.
Scientists in India, the UK and South Korea have
published two studies which show plants used in
traditional medicines in India could potentially be
used both in face masks to improve their ability to
filter out the virus and taken orally to slow infection
rates and ease symptoms.

3. GENERAL MEASURES
① Drink warm water throughout the day
②Daily practice of yoga, pranayama & meditation
for at least 30mins as advised by ministry of
AYUSH

4. SIMPLE AYURVEDIC TREATMENT
①NASAL APPLICATION :- Apply sesame oil/coconut
OR Ghee in both nostrils in morning and evening.
②OIL PULLING THERAPY :- Take 1 table spoon
sesame OR coconut oil in mouth. Don't drink it,
swirl in mouth for 2-3 mins & spilt it off followed
by warm water rinse. This can done onces OR
twice in a day.

5. DURING DRY COUGH (SORE THROAT)
①Steam inhalation with fresh Pudina(mint) leaves
OR Ajwain(Caraway seeds) can be practiced once
in a day.
②Lavang(Clove) powered mixed with natural
sugars/Honey can be taken 2-3 times a day in
case of cough OR throat irritation.

6. AYURVEDIC IMMUNITY PROMOTING
MEASURES
①Take chayavanprash 10gm(1tsf) in the morning
{Diabetes should take sugar free chayavanprash.
②Drink herbal tea/ decoction (Kadha) made from
Tulsi(Basil), Dalchini(Cinnamon),
③Kalimirch(Black pepper), Shunthi (Dry ginger) and
munaka(Raisin) - once OR twice a day. Add
jaggery (Natural sugar) and fresh lemon juice to
your taste , if needed.
