Emergency Planning Manager
CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY
The Tsilhqot’in National Government is seeking to
hire an Emergency Planning Manager to work with
the six communities of the Tsilhqot’in Nation.
Emergency Planning is necessary to improve
community safety and security and involves the
following:
Mitigation and Prevention: Activities which reduce or
eliminate the effects of an emergency or disaster.
Preparedness: Actions taken prior to an emergency
or disaster to ensure an effective response:
community education, emergency information,
training, preparing plans, operation centers and
communication systems.
Response: Involves actions taken to respond to an
emergency.
Recovery: Includes the activities required to return
the community to its pre-emergency state.
Qualifications
You will ideally have the following qualifications:
Emergency Preparedness related certificate,
diploma or degree
Proven emergency preparedness skills
Knowledge of the Tsilhqot’in communities
Excellent written and verbal communications
Program planning and evaluation skills
Organizational and analytical skills
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-
paced, changing environment
Ability to work independently and as part of
a team
Ability to work under pressure
Hold a valid BC Driver’s License and a reliable
vehicle
