 The ‘Canes Care group is a response
team committed to creating an
environment that:
 Promotes a caring community among students, faculty, and
staff through active and passive programming and outreach
 Engages students to be active participants; not bystanders
 Is safe and welcoming for all students
 Supports students’ academic success by helping alleviate
personal stressors
 Encourages students’ full participation in the UM community
and in their own positive collegial experience
 Refers students to campus resources that can help
