2. Career Experience:
February 2009 to current: Shire of Esperance (WA).
Shire of Esperance – Manager of Community Enterprises (promoted from Venue Coordinator in
March 2011)
Responsibilities:
Management of The Esperance Civic Centre (multipurpose venue including 550 seat Theatre
/ Auditorium) including one permanent staff and pool of casual staff as required.
Responsible for programming entertainment presented at our venue (including purchased
product and venue hire product).
Management of $602,000 (Civic Centre) and $492,000 (Visitor Centre) budgets.
Management of the Esperance Visitor Centre including five staff.
Work with ‘Australia’s Golden Outback’ and ‘Tourism Esperance’ to develop and implement
Esperance’s annual state-wide marketing plan.
Mentoring of staff.
Member of Shire Leadership team.
Achievements:
Doubling of the LotteryWest grant funding (for audience development) over the last six
years (2009/2010 – 2015/2016).
Overseen $130,000 technical upgrade of theatre (through grant funding).
Improved relationships with local theatre stakeholders.
Winner of “Community Involvement” category of the ‘2012 GWN7 Top Tourist Awards’
(Visitor Centre’s Association annual awards).
Additional employment / activities:
Client Services for The Print Shop Esperance (selling printing products).
Returning Officer for the 2015 Local Government election (for the Shire of Esperance).
(Previously) weekly on-air (pre-recorded) spots with ABC local radio Western Australia.
(Previously) ran a small home based business operating two, two-bedroom holiday
apartments (The Doo Drop Inn) in Esperance from May 2011 to July 2014.

Sales Executive
Responsibilities:
Sales of New (Holden, Hyundai, Mitsubishi and Suzuki) and used cars.
Bringing new stock into system.
Meet and greet clients coming onto the lot.
Learning about the different models (and sub-models) across four brands of new cars.
Achievements:
Averaged sales of 11 cars per month totalling over $5.5 million.
3. February 2007 to September 2007: Trading Post (Tasmania)
Sales Executive
Responsibilities:
Servicing and increasing business from current clients and sourcing new business.
Work autonomously in the Devonport / Burnie regions.
Work within a set revenue budget, ensuring the region remained profitable for the Trading
Post.
Assisting in setting and proofing newspaper advertising.
Client liaison and problem solving.
Achievements:
Made revenue budget within two months and regularly made weekly revenue targets.
March 2003 to January 2007: Macquarie Regional RadioWorks (now Southern Cross Austereo).
General Manager RadioWest / HOT-FM Esperance (WA), RadioWest / HOT-FM Albany (WA) and 7LA
Launceston (Tas.)
Responsibilities:
Ensure smooth day to day running of the stations with a focus on revenue. (At 7LA six
departments operated within the building with a total of 27 employees including six Section
Managers who reported directly to me).
Chair weekly Heads of Departments meetings, mentor senior staff and developing their
managerial skills (7LA).
Work within set budgets (revenue and expenditure) ensuring the business’ remained
profitable.
Setting individual Account Manager budgets – reflecting pre-set station budget – in
accordance with client list and individual abilities.
Client liaison and problem solving.
Training and mentoring of staff.
Achievements:
At RadioWest / HOT-FM Esperance, achieved first station revenue budget for two years (in
August 2003) and achieved 20 of the following 22 station revenue budgets (August 2003 to
May 2005)
At RadioWest / HOT-FM Albany, achieved the first station revenue budgets for two and a
half years (in November and December 2005).
Settled staff turnover (an issue at RadioWest / HOT-FM Albany and 7LA).
Regained community and business acceptance of radio station, putting value back into the
product (an issue at RadioWest / HOT-FM Albany and 7LA).
4. February 1999 to March 2003: Esperance Group Training Scheme (inc.) Esperance (WA)
Case Manager
Responsibilities:
Working one-on-one with long-term unemployed (referred to our Job Network arm by
Centrelink)
The day to day running of the JPET (Youth at Risk) contract and arranging Job Skills Training.
Worked on JPP (Job’s Pathway Program) and Apprentice & Traineeship contracts.
Achievements:
Set up and operated a youth drop-in centre.
Had contracts for both Job Network and JPET (twice) renewed without re-tendering.
January 1997 to February 1999: RadioWest, Esperance (WA)
Radio Announcer
Responsibilities:
Producing and presenting the RadioWest Breakfast Show (five days a week)
Writing and producing commercials
Ensuring the on-air computer system (Wizard for Windows) was correctly programmed and
running Efficiently (including HOT-FM from 1998)
Achievements:
Nominated as a finalist for the 1998 RaWards (now ACRA Awards).
Oversaw the introduction of HOT-FM into the marketplace.
