“Tell me about a time you failed at a task you were assigned…”
“Have you ever had to work with someone you didn’t like?
How did you handle that?”
“How do you handle setting goals? Can you give an example?”
These can be challenging questions
How you answer them?
Let's talk about a technique
This is where you get to be introspective.
Share what the outcome of the situation was and how you specifically contributed to that outcome.
What did you accomplish? What did you learn? What were the results of your actions?
Think of a situation similar to what the interviewer is asking you about that had a successful outcome.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be work related as long as it’s relevant.
Remember to include the who, what, where, when and how.
Describe the task you were responsible for in that situation.
Keep it specific but concise.
Make sure to highlight any specific challenges you faced.
This is the part where you describe exactly what you did.
How did you complete the task you were assigned?
Remember to focus on what you did and highlight traits (qualities) that a hiring manager will find desirable (initiative, teamwork, leadership, dedication, etc.)
This is where you get to be introspective.
Share what the outcome of the situation was and how you specifically contributed to that outcome.
What did you accomplish? What did you learn? What were the results of your actions?

Watch for the pause
“You can hold someone with silence and make them go on.
You tend to feel you need to fill all dead air.
There are times when if you just say no more than ‘uh-huh,’ and pause, they’ll add something out of a kind of desperation that turns out to be pretty good.
Let them sweat a little and then they’ll come up with something that they were perhaps not going to say.”

Now is you chance to turn the table, interview the interviewer
To manager – What is you approach to work?
In what way do you support your employees to continue to develop professionally
What do you like to do outside of work?
What are your favorite things about working here?
What’s the busiest time of year like at the company?
Do people usually dress like this?
