Close the Loop Company held its 8th annual Give & Take Day event on Earth Day, where over 6000 pounds of goods worth tens of thousands of dollars were donated and received. The event helped reduce waste and kept items within the local community. The company also created a Google map of over 500 trails and open spaces in Monroe County to encourage outdoor activities. Close the Loop Company recycles waste materials like tires and plastics to make recycled products and has been in business for over 15 years.

Give & Take Days are a great way to reuse items that are too good to throw away but you just don’t have a use for them anymore – people bring reusable items between 10am and 1pm, then take away anything they want from 1:30pm to 3pm – it’s free! Not only did we reduce waste in the community, items stayed within the local community and saved people money from having to buy new items, and charities benefitted by receiving the items left over at the end of the day.
