This document proposes an online voting system that utilizes blockchain technology and machine learning to securely and anonymously store votes. The system aims to address issues with traditional voting methods like inefficiency, costs, and security/anonymity concerns. It would reduce costs and human resources while ensuring integrity and accuracy. A group of students outlines building a web application using blockchain to securely record votes and machine learning for security features like verifying voters. They discuss objectives like scalability, privacy, anonymity and verifiability. Literature on similar systems is reviewed covering solutions like avoiding human errors in tallying and protecting anonymity. The proposed system's workflow, technologies, UI screens and potential applications are described to conclude the potential for online democratic decisions.

2. Problem Statement
Traditional voting systems are often inefficient and costly, requiring a
significant amount of human resources to administer and count votes.
Additionally, there are concerns about the security and anonymity of the
voting process. Our project aims to address these issues by creating a
web application that utilizes blockchain technology to securely and
anonymously store votes. By doing so, we aim to reduce costs and the
need for human resources in the voting process while ensuring the
integrity and accuracy of the votes cast.

3. Introduction
● The crucial right to cast a vote or essentially casting a vote on a ballot forms
the basis of democracy. From ballot boxes, to punch cards the voting system
are periodically transformed into EVMs for conducting elections.
● But, the existing e-voting system are vulnerable to hacking, have limitations
and risks of computer technologies, and needs physical security of machines
as well. So, the main focus of the proposed system is to overcome these
issues and introduce secure, user-friendly Online Voting.
● The presented online portal is highly secure and also has other unique
security features such as primary id generation that puts another layer
security and enables the admin the ability to check the user information and
to decide whether he is qualified to vote or not.

4. Voting systems need to be able
to handle very large elections.
A system is private if, neither election
authorities nor anyone else can link
any ballot to the voter who cast it,
and no voter can prove that he or she
voted in a particular way.
01 02
Scalability Privacy
Secret ballots are fundamental
to democracy, and voting
systems must be designed to
facilitate voter anonymity.
A system is verifiable if anyone can
independently verify that all votes
have been counted correctly.

Paper Title Issue addressed Solution found
“An efficient and secure
students online voting
application”
Published in 2020
Presently in college vote casting
is performed by utilizing papers
and counting is done manually
which spends a lot of time of
educators also possibility of
errors are more.
In this platform vote capturing
and tallying is done on web
which saves time, avoid human
errors no invalid votes.

Paper Title Issue addressed Solution found
“The Future of E-voting”
By P.Tarasov and
H. Tewari,
In this paper they proposed a
peer-to-peer blockchain based
voting system. Main focus of this
research is to protect the
anonymity of the ballots and
commitment of the votes to the
blockchain. According to this
purpose, they propose a unique
vote commitment format.
The authors designed a system
that creates blocks following
collection of ballots from voters
to keep them in a database until
the end of election process. In
this paper, authors tried to
eliminate the need for a
database.

15. Conclusion
This system can be implemented on
various different platforms which
requires collective decisions like :-
1. Voting system for making Budget at
internal government level
2. Electing college representative
3. Organizations / Offices
