1. Having graduated with 2nd Class Honors Degree in Education (Business Studies & Geography) KU, I
have gained and consistently developed core technical and professional skills in teaching and
training of Business Studies (and its related subjects) and Geography-both physical and human.
Besides, through my direct hand-on experience in community development planning and projects
management, I have acquired and polished the following practical skills.
2. In my current position as Policy & Resource Mobilization Advisor in the Office of the Governor, I
play a pivotal role in helping all the County Departments (Ministries) to either formulate, review
and or develop policies and project/program proposals for cabinet consideration and external
resource mobilization. Some of the works I have undertaken and submitted to various
organizations and organs of the County Government for consideration are enclosed with this
application.
3. In my previous position as the Sub-County Youth Training Officer for Homa Bay Sub-County, I
developed a detailed Baseline Survey Tool for Youth Polytechnics in Homa Bay County, a tool that
enables the County Directorate of Youth Training to generate timely Reports on the Status of
Youth Training in Homa Bay County identifying Gaps and Opportunities for Strengthening Youth
Training in Homa Bay County. I also developed a Five Year Strategic Development and
Management Plan for County Polytechnics in Kabondo Kasipul Sub-County.
4. As a Sub-County Youth Training Officer in Homa Bay County, I have developed: Homa Bay County
Polytechnics Bill (2015); Homa Bay County Youth Development Policy (March 2015); and Homa Bay
County Youth Development Action Plan and Implementation Strategy (2015-2019). Besides, I have
worked on the By-Laws and registration of Homa Bay County Polytechnics Staff SACCO limited.
5. As a Volunteer with Women Enterprise Fund (WEF) between 12th
January 2014 and 15th
July 2014 in
Kabondo Kasipul Sub-county, I trained a total of 149 women groups on Accumulated Savings and
Credit Associations (ASCAs) – Table Banking Curriculum and assisted a total of 79 women groups to
obtain loans of Kshs. 100,000 each from WEF. During this time, I also used the training skills gained
from ASCAs to assist 8 groups to successfully apply for and obtain the Uwezo Fund Loans in Kitutu
Chache South, Kasipul and Kabondo Kasipul Constituencies respectively.
6. While serving the Board of Governors of Omiro Youth Polytechnic as the Chairman of the Project
Management Committee and Chairman of the Budget Committee, I have successfully seen the
construction of 1 No. Masonry Workshop at a Cost of Kshs. 400,000.00 funded by the Constituency
Development Fund (CDF) and is currently negotiating for additional funding for the Construction of
2 no. training workshops and a dormitory for girls and boys with the CDF pledging a funding of
Kshs. 1,400,000.00.
7. While working as Co-Principal Consultant for the Njaa Marufuku Kenya Component 3 - Support and
Up-scaling of Private Sector Food Security Innovations Impact Evaluation Consultancy, I was

instrumental in developing and pre-testing all the Study Tools and Instruments; Supervising Field
Data Collection and Data Entry, Analyzing and Interpreting Data; and Writing the Final Report
which was submitted to Njaa Marufuku Kenya Secretariat through the Lead Consultant, the Agri-
and Cooperative Training Consultants Limited (Karen- Nairobi) on the 22nd
September 2014. During
this study, I gained valuable knowledge on Green Economy Innovations and Initiatives that will go a
long way in shaping other communities not initially reached by the Funded Organizations or the
Njaa Marufuku Kenya Cash Transfer Program.
8. While working as Lead Consultant for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization
(UNIDO), COMESA and Africa Union (AU) Africa Investor Survey 2012 for the Kenya Enterprise
Survey 2012, I gained critical skills in enterprise-level survey using a joint COMESA-UNIDO-Africa
Union Questionnaire. I also led a team of 23 enumerators to carry out the survey in 450 companies
across Kenya (Mombasa, Nairobi, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Kisii, Machakos, Bungoma, and
Homa Bay Counties). I later coordinated data entry and survey questionnaires transcription using
the Survey Processing and Analysis Engine (SANG). The contract was worth US$25,000 and was
executed within 60 days between February, 18th
and April 30th
2013.
9. While working as a Community Mobilization and Capacity Development Expert for Shiloh Farms
Development Organization, KAPI Limited and P.E.K Limited in Elgeyo/Marakwet and West Pokot
Counties, I helped to initiate the North Rift Smallholder Pyrethrum Growing and Value Chain
Development, a project that saw a total of 10.14 Million pyrethrum seedlings planted in
Elgeyo/Marakwet and an investor (MGK Company, USA) being offered 10 acres of land to set up a
private Export Processing Zone to establish Pyrthrin Extraction and Processing Plant at Cheptongei
Location in Marakwet
10. While acting as lead consultant for the United States of America Embassy in Kenya’s Locally
Engaged Staff in 2008, I developed a Constitution for the American Mission Locally Engaged Staff
in Nairobi (AMLESAN) Welfare Association that was later recognized by the Head of the Mission as
legal body for the representation and coordination of all welfare issues affecting the USA Mission
in Kenya’s Locally Engaged Staff.
11. Through USAID/AED CAP Kenya grant of US$ 55,000 granted for the Migori Community Destitute &
Orphaned Children Support and Sponsorship Project in 1996, I gained valuable skills in Grant
Management, Project Gantt Charts and Activity Timeline Development, Financial Reporting,
Quantitative and Qualitative Reporting (QQR), Technical Grant Proposal Writing, Activity Based
Budgeting (ABB), Project Result Matrix Development (PRMD) and Communication, Rights-Based
Programming, Project Performance Monitoring Plan Development (PMP), and Project Monitoring
and Evaluation using various frameworks for Monitoring and Evaluation.

I volunteered for the Women Enterprise Fund (WEF) as the Fund Officer for Kabondo Kasipul Constituency,
Homa Bay County. As a volunteer, I facilitated the Accumulated Savings & Credit Associations (ASCAs)

Program Director of the Migori Community Based Orphans & Destitute Children Support and Sponsorship
Program (MICODEC SSP).
The Program aimed at building capacities of People Living HIV/AIDS, Widows and Caregivers in Migori
District to be able to offer sustainable care and support to the Orphaned and Vulnerable Children within
their care while delivering direct support services for OVC.

While working as a Community Mobilization and Capacity Development Expert for Shiloh Farms Development Organization, KAPI Limited and P.E.K Limited in Elgeyo/Marakwet and West Pokot Counties, I helped to initiate the North Rift Smallholder Pyrethrum Growing and Value Chain Development, a project that saw a total of 10.14 Million pyrethrum seedlings planted in Elgeyo/Marakwet and an investor (MGK Company, USA) being offered 10 acres of land to set up a private Export Processing Zone to establish Pyrthrin Extraction and Processing Plant at Cheptongei Location in Marakwet 10. While acting as lead consultant for the United States of America Embassy in Kenya’s Locally Engaged Staff in 2008, I developed a Constitution for the American Mission Locally Engaged Staff in Nairobi (AMLESAN) Welfare Association that was later recognized by the Head of the Mission as legal body for the representation and coordination of all welfare issues affecting the USA Mission in Kenya’s Locally Engaged Staff. 11. Through USAID/AED CAP Kenya grant of US$ 55,000 granted for the Migori Community Destitute & Orphaned Children Support and Sponsorship Project in 1996, I gained valuable skills in Grant Management, Project Gantt Charts and Activity Timeline Development, Financial Reporting, Quantitative and Qualitative Reporting (QQR), Technical Grant Proposal Writing, Activity Based Budgeting (ABB), Project Result Matrix Development (PRMD) and Communication, Rights-Based Programming, Project Performance Monitoring Plan Development (PMP), and Project Monitoring and Evaluation using various frameworks for Monitoring and Evaluation.
