the magazine are Marketforce, Comag, Frontline
and Seymour. Major distributors have access to
major retailers like supermarkets.
• Independent distributors: Independent
distributors are companies like Viceland. They sell
to people like independent news retailers,
specialist book sellers and rely heavily on online
platforms.
3. Distribution for my media product.
• My magazine is aimed at a very specialised
audience, and covers bands often with socially
unacceptable images, or politics. The chances are
this would make it an unpopular choice for the
major distributors. The specialised audience
would make it unlikely that it would sell the
numbers needed to keep the big media
conglomerates happy, its most likely that the
niche audience it targets would be more likely to
access it using media 2.0 or via specialist
independent music and bookstores.
