Kidney transplantation
1.
2. One Healthy kidney is enough for the
purification of blood.
But when both the kidneys fail, we need to
receive a functioning kidney from a donor.
A kidney can be received from a healthy
person or a person who dies in an accident,if
the blood group of the donor and the
recipient match.
3. During transplantation,damaged kidneys are
not removed.
Instead a new kidney is connected below the
nonfuctional kidney,with the recipient’s renal
renal artery and renal vein .
The ureter of the transplanted kidney is also
attached to the urinary bladder of the recipient .
The transplantation of kidney is considered to
be successful only when the donor’s kidney is
completely accepted by the recipient’s body.
