2. Over the process of filming and editing our media piece i have learnt a great
deal on how to use different technologies and the changes and effect that they
have on our media piece. I’ve learnt how many different technologies there in
the research, filming and editing of a media piece.
3. RESEARCHINGANDBLOGGING
Over the process of creating our media product we conducted lots of research into similar media products to help
gain ideas for our media piece.
The main websites i used when analysing and researching into other media products was
and ‘Youtube.’ Art of the Title is a website containing several different genres and title sequences and contains a
small explanation of what occurred during it and what is meant by it. This was very useful in starting up our ideas
to do in our media product as well as giving us movies we could watch and look at and analyse.
The second website we used when analysing was this helped us to access almost all the title
sequences and opening titles that we wanted to analyse. This allowed us to stream the videos and stop and start
them so we are able to analyse and take the codes and conventions from them to put in our media product.
To blog and keep hold of all our research we used a website called this allows you to write
blog posts and publish them all online. This has really helped me to collate all of my work together and make the
planning process when filming much easier to control and to be able to understand.
4. Editing
To edit our media we began by using imovie however this limited us to what we were
able to do as it was very basic, so then we began to use premier pro. We used
imovie when creating our preliminary as it was very easy to work around however gave
us a very basic media product. When all the computers were updated they then installed
premiere pro this was much harder to get used to but allowed the media product to look
much more professional. To help us get used to and gain a better understanding of the
editing software we were given a lesson on how to work it.
We continuously used Youtube for the research in our coursework but we also used it to
upload all our media products. This was very useful as it allowed all the members of our
group to access it as well as the general public. Youtube allows you to upload your media
product for free and is easy and simple to do.
5. Filming
When recording our media piece the camera in which we used was a Nikon d7100. We
learnt that before we began the recording we must ensure that we format that card to
that specific camera ensuring that all our clips would be saved. The camera gave a very
sharp clear picture helping to improve the quality of our media product. After recording
several practice shots and experiments with the camera it became much more easy to
use and navigate around.
