1. Week 8
This week I spent most of my time filming with my group.
The first scenes we did was one of the end of the college day were students were leaving this would help us when setting the scene of our film
allowing the audience to identify with the film as well. During this filming I had to do some shots in which I would walk with the crowd this
would be my first on screen appearance, Janet (acting as camera woman) did some close up shots at this point to get my facial expression as
well as to introduce my character “Sophia”. During this I had to adopt my role as “Sophia” where I was care free and unaware I may have been
preyed upon and watched.
Later that week Femi (Camera woman) and Janet (camera woman and editor) came to my house which would be the setting for the scene
where “Sophia” gets ready to meet “Kwame”. As the producer I set the room to a typical teenagers bedroom, as well as placing props in an
accessible and appropriate place for example ‘Sophia puts on make up and fixes her hair while looking in the mirror’. I ensured these props
were in an accessible location in close proximity to the mirror; this was to ensure that the chosen shots could be filmed smoothly such as mid
shot to close up. Also the correct positioning of the props meant that that camera and camera woman was not in the shot as a good proportion
of this scene was done so you could see “Sophia’s” face and body language in the mirror.
For the period of filming this scene I had to for the first time adopt “Sophia’s” personality were she was anxious and nervous I did this by
altering my body language and using the appropriate facial expression. It was during this filming session were I came up with the idea to uses a
split screen of “Sophia” and “Kwame” getting ready and them going back to get an item the antagonist ‘s being a rope and the main characters
a lip-gloss. We shot this part and plan to incorporate this when filming the shots with David as well as adding this change to our story board.
