3. 1:Who are the “ROHINGYA”?
2:Why can’t Rohingya stay in Bangladesh?
3:What kind of conditions do they face in Myanmar?
4:What Mayanmar says about the GENOCIDE?
5:South Asian politics & Mayanmar
6:Problems that facing Bangladesh
7:Is Bangladesh govt. taking any action to send ROHINGYA back?
4.
5. TECHNICALLY THEY ARE JUST “THE ROHINGYA”, THE MAJORITY OF
WHOM HAPPEN TO BE MUSLIM. THEY ARE A GROUP WHO LIVE IN
NORTH-WEST MAYANMAR, SQUEEZED BETWEEN THAT COUNTRY
AND BANGLADESH. NEITHER MAYANMAR OR BANGLADESH WILL
GIVE THEM CITIZENSHIP.
WHO ARE THE “ROHINGYA”
6.
7. Why can’t the Rohingya stay in Bangladesh?
The Bangladeshi government has repeatedly described them as a social and
economic burden. With the aid of the United Nations, the Rohingya were housed
in refugee camps along the Myanmar-Bangladesh border, but Bangladesh has
periodically insisted they return to Myanmar, against the wishes of the Myanmar
government .There are still almost 50000 Rohingya living in camps in atrocious
conditions in Bangladesh, and this January Bangladesh proposed – not for the
first time – to move them to a remote, inhospitable island. The refugee crisis
erupted after ARSA raids on Myanmar police posts on 25 August promoted a
brutal military backlash. After that more than 8,00,000 Rohingya have entered in
Bangladesh crossing the national border.
8. More than 800000 Rohingya are living nearby
Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong….
9. The Rohingya face persecution both by government and by wider
Myanmar society. Human Rights Watch has reported that they have
endured forced labour, rape, and religious persecution. In 2012 at least
70 Rohingya were reported killed in a single massacre allegedly aided
by state security forces. They have restricted rights to work and travel,
and can enter certain professions like law and politics only in limited
numbers. Global rights groups have repeatedly termed the oppression
of the Rohingya a “crime against humanity” that amounts to “ethnic
cleansing”
What kindof conditions do they face in Myanmar?
10. Myanmar has rejected allegations of systematic atrocities against the ROHINGYA,
telling the United Nations security council that “there is no ethnic cleansing and
no genocide in Myanmar”
Myanmar’s national security adviser U Thaung Tun denied the accusations. “I
can assure you that the leaders of Myanmar, who have been struggling so long
for freedom and human rights, will never espouse policy of genocide or ethnic
cleansing and that the government will do everything to prevent it,”
Mayanmar’s speech ab
“ROHINGYA”
11. 1: The current government is in power with the support of the military… Also, the Aung Sung
Suchi-led party has its own ‘voting politics.’ She cannot do anything overlooking the
objectives,
2: It was expected that our neighbor country China & India will play a vital role to stop the
GENOCIDE but they have always supported the Mayanmar govt.
3: It has become a bigger game to eradicate the MUSLIM ethnicities from Middle East & South
East , so South Asian powerful countries like China , Japan , India are supporting Mayanmar .
4: The International community needs to come forward to solve this problem
permanently by putting pressure on the Myanmar government to take back its
citizens by creating a safe and secured environment in its own country
5: Some countries are trying to sell their munition & weapons to the Revolters of Mayanmar.
Is South Asia is going to be next Middle East ?

13. Home minister: “We will shelter the Rohingya as long as
the influx continues”
Bangladesh will continue to provide shelter to the Rohingya as long as they seek refuge
here in the face of the brutal persecution being carried out by Myanmar military forces in the
Rakhine State, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said.
Bangladesh has so far completed biometric registration of 400,00 Rohingya refugees who
entered Cox’s Bazar fleeing the ethnic violence being carried out on the minority group by
Myanmar’s forces in the country’s Rakhine state
Moreover, Bangladesh govt. has declared to allot an ISLAND for Rohingya.
Bangladesh has requested to take Rohingya back but Mayanmar denied. Still Bangladesh
govt. & the people of Bangladesh providing shelter and food to the Rohingya.
15. Problems that facing Bangladesh
Bangladesh is the most densly country in the world it’s population is more than it’s area.Additional 1200000 people is a
burden for the govt.
Every year we have to import billion dollars food , in this situation govt. is unable to tackle the pricehike of daily needs .
Rohingya people are illiterate . They don’t have the knowledge of family planning and other basic knowledge . As a
result they are spreading many diseases.
One estimate suggests that US$ 250 million is needed to support the current refugees for a period of six month.
Security concern, both internal and external, is another challenge that Bangladesh is already facing and it will intensify
further in the future with the new influx of the Rohingya refugees.
The other pertinent issue is the danger of widespread environmental degradation due to the settlement of the
refugees in areas close to hills and forest lands. Clearing of forest land, overexploitation of natural resources to support
the livelihoods of the refugees will have serious consequences on the local environment.
