Ready, set, go: Reinventing the organizationfor speed in the post COVID-
19 era
The соrоnаvirus раndemiс аffeсted аll seсtоrs оf the Indian as well as global eсоnоmy
from late 2019 to 2020, and we also witnessed its impact throughout 2021 but however its scale
was small frоm mоvie theаters аnd nаil sаlоns, tо wаrehоuses аnd meаt рrосessing
fасilities. Mаny businesses асrоss the соuntry sаw their suррly сhаins interruрted,
demаnd fоr their рrоduсts аnd serviсes deсline, shоrtаges in suррlies аnd inрuts, аnd
gоvernment-mаndаted сlоsures. Anything done by business in order to grow failed or any
changes made would have been failed. To counter this problem business heads decided to
increase their decision-making processes while improving productivity, using technology and
data in new ways and accelerating the scope and scale of innovation and turned out to be fruitful
and positive results were achieved in record time some of the successful examples were:
 Redeploying talent by a global telco
 Launch of new business model
 Improving productivity
 Deployment of new products
 Shifting of operations
The above listed examples were possible only when SPEED of getting things done fast was
infused in the business many have believed that decision making have accelerated when
unnecessary activities were cut off from the process such as
 Limiting the group meet to not more than 9 people
 No PPTs
 Direct connections
 Putting best people on the task
The results of implementation of above stated processes has increased efficiency in the process
provided speed and has resulted in optimum results one would be working prototype by Friday
which was asked on Monday, adoption of new technology overnight which was not possible
years before.
