Importing/Adding Contacts in Bulk from Excel Sheet

1. How to Import/Add multiple Contacts
into android phone from excel Sheet

2. Sometime we need to add multiple contacts into our phone say 100 to 500 and more,
then it is easy to do it with excel sheet and importing these contacts in just few easy
steps. So, following steps will perform this task.
1. Creating Excel worksheet of contacts and
making csv file.
2. Creating .vcf file through google services.
3. Laoding contacts(.vcf file) into your android
phone.

3. 1. Step
Creating Excel worksheet of contacts and
making .csv file.

4. First of all, we create excel worksheet of our contact name and numbers. For
example, I will create contacts of five people in excel as shown:

5. In the previous figure,I have used three fields that are Name, Phone and
Company. Note that these fields should be match with fields of your phone
fields when you add any new contact. My phone has following fields as shown
in following figure

6. So, you need to add same fields in excel file.I have used top three fields.
Then, you have to save the file in .csv format.This is comma separated file that is read to
import contacts. I have saved the document wit name as contacts.csv.

7. Step 2:
Creating .vcf file through Google
services.

8. Something about vCard
• A VCF (vCard) file is used to store/transport standard
contact information of a person.
• This file directly stores one or more contacts into
your phone.
• Now ,in previous step, we just created .csv file.Now
we will create .vcf from .csv file using google service.
• For this sign in with your Google account. Then after
signing in, type contacts.google.com and then you
will see following screen:

10. Then, click on the import button shown in the left side.It
will prompt file .csv file as:

11. Now just select contacts.csv file and click on import. After
clicking on import, all contacts will be shown in form of list on
the screen as:

12. Now, you have to create .vcf file
for these contacts. Now click on
export button shown below the
import button. After that, select
vCard(for iOS contacts) and then
click on export.
It will create .vcf file and same
will be downloaded automatically
as show in my case(below figure):

13. Step 3:
Loading contacts into android phone.

In this step, you have to share
this contacts.vcf into your
phone through any method say
Bluetooth,Google Drive or
whatsapp. After that just click
on that file, it will store all the
contacts into your phone.
After successful storing of all
contacts, I am showing you
one contact that we have
added in excel from my
phone’s contact list as:
