1. REGISTERED NURSE
Registered nurses (RNs) provide and coordinate
patient care, inform patients and the public
about various health conditions, and provide
counseling and emotional support to patients
and their families. Most nurses work as a
team with physicians and other healthcare
professionals in various settings. Depending on
the type of nurse you want to become, you

REGISTERED NURSE
A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
(CRNA) is a highly trained nurse that
specializes in assisting with anesthesia during
surgeries. CRNA’s make up some of the
highest- paid nurse specialties in the medical
field due to the high demand of these nurses
in surgical settings and detailed training they
receive.

4. CLINICAL NURSE
Clinical nurse specialists are a type of
advanced practice registered nurse (APRN),
who provide direct patient care by working
with other nurses and staff to improve the
quality of care a patient receives. They often
serve in leadership roles and may educate
and advise other nursing staff.

5. CRITICAL CARE
NURSE
Critical Care Nurses are very similar to
registered nurses, especially when it comes to
training, but the main difference is that an
intensive care nurse is specially trained to deal
with emergency situations. An intensive care
nurse can be expected to tend to serious
wounds and monitor life support systems in
stressful situations.

6. ER NURSE
With her team in the ER, an ER nurse
performs a number of tasks after carefully
examining and stabilizing a patient. An
emergency room nurse can be expected to
determine the proper administration of
medications by reviewing the patient's

7. FAMILY NURSE
PRACTITIONER (FNP)

NURSING
A geriatric nurse specializes in treating elderly patients in

N URSE
A perioperative nurse, also known as a surgical nurse or an

The role of a Nurse Manager is that of a supervisory

A midwife specializes in caring for pregnant women. She
