ENABLING STEM CAREERS FOR VETERANS AND MILITARY SPOUSES
HireaSTEMVet is a Veteran employment program, providing career guidance and support services to
Veterans and Military spouses, to help kick start rewarding careers in STEM occupations. We assist
returning Veterans in making a successful transition from the military to civilian professional world.
Founded by industry experts, both Veterans and civilians, we have a 180 degree roadmap for successful
transition. With a passion to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), HireaSTEMVet is
dedicated to leveraging technology to develop tools and methodologies to help veterans and Military
spouses successfully transition into STEM jobs across the country.
In addition to the approximately 200,000 service members who transition from active duty every year,
there are hundreds of thousands of Veterans, Reservists, Retirees, Guardsmen and working spouses
who are looking for new employment opportunities. We can match these service members with ever
growing need for trained and qualified people in STEM related occupations, where it has been predicted
by the U.S. Department of Labor that there will be an estimated 1.2 million new jobs in STEM-related
fields each year, by the year 2018.
We believe that Veterans are an elite group that how a certain level of intelligence just to get into the
military. Studies have shown that ”Only three out of 10 young people can even qualify for the military
today". Those that make it in develop some of the same skills that any Company would like to have. In
the military, many soldiers gain vast experience using sophisticated and cutting-edge technological
innovations that require skills in the science, technology, engineering and mathematical (STEM) fields.
The armed services also has people who can lead and innovate.
Veterans sometimes need a little more guidance to land a STEM job, where we would come in. But the
potential to help is enormous, as approximately 50,000 science, technology, engineering and math
(STEM) jobs in Washington DC are alone will go unfilled by 2017, according to a study conducted by the
Boston Consulting Group. And with the population of U.S. military veterans expected to rise by another
1 million over the next several years, we have a great asset before us ready to be unlocked to benefit
the American economy.

What we can do to help: Providing Veterans the essential tools to succeed in today`s workforce
Career Counselling:
• Most candidates come with prior work experience which is specific to their specialty in military.
We will help candidates in identifying civilian or government industries which requires similar
work experience. This enables candidates to conduct a relevant streamlined job search and
avoid the recruiting blackholes.
• Some veterans are looking for a complete career change and HireaSTEMVet will help them
prepare a road map for that next big leap by identifying training programs, certifications and/or
education needed to make that transition.
Professional Work Training:
Certification training for a technology job that will complement the veterans previous work
experience, MOS and degree where applicable. List of industry relevant certifications:
• IT Business Analyst
• Quality Assurance
• Cyber Security
• Life Sciences: Validation, Compliance, Technical Writing,
• Billing and coding
• Help Desk/Technicians
Class structure: These classes based on candidate’s geographical location and will be provided
via classroom as well as virtual training.
Networking within relevant industry: It is critical for success of veteran hiring to establish a
successful relationship with industry hiring leaders. Identify open positions within the veteran’s
desired industry where their prior work experience and the new acquired certification are
desired skill sets. Helping a veteran navigate and network is key to their success.
Resume Workshops: Demilitarizing the terminology for a winning resume is key ensure that the
civilian recruiters can identify with the relevant work experience. Resume writing workshop so
that their professional experience compliments the job they are applying for.

Resume writing experts: The resume writing experts will be a combination of civilian and
military recruiters who have relevant industry experience. Based on candidate’s geographical
location and will be provided via classroom as well as virtual training,
Interview Prep: Once selected for an interview candidate will be trained for their big day.
HireaSTEMVet interview coaches will help identify examples from veteran’s military career to
resonate during an interview. Training will be provided for the following interview styles:
• Technology interview
• Case interviews
• Behavioral interviews
• Situational interviews
