The document discusses how breaking large goals into smaller, more achievable daily goals helps the author stay motivated and avoid discouragement. Examples given include writing one paragraph per day of an essay instead of multiple pages, and dividing large projects into parts. By setting realistic yet challenging goals each day, the author feels determined to complete tasks and achieve both small and large goals. The author's biggest goals for 2016 are to graduate from college and high school, and test for a second-degree black belt in martial arts.
1. Goals
Goals have always been a big part of everyday life. I have learned that I need to break
down my goals into less overwhelming and more realistic goals that I can achieve everyday. I
get easily discouraged, so I have also found that it helps me to have back up goals in case
some aren’t as easily achieved. Example of this are:
● adding a paragraph each day to a large essay, rather than completing pages per day.
● splitting large projects into “part 1”, “part 2”, “part 3” etc., rather than one project.
With the amount of extra work that I put into making my goals more achievable for
myself, I am always very determined to get the job done, whatever it may be, when I set my
mind to it. Large and small tasks and goals keep me motivated, and I’m willing to be flexible to
make things happens.
My biggest goals to be achieved in 2016:
● Graduating from Utah Valley University with Associate’s Degree in April 2016
● Graduating from Utah County Academy of Science with High School Diploma in May
2016
● Testing for my 2nd degree black belt in the Omega Martial Arts system in July 2016
