RICHENDA EDDY - CEO
To understand the ambient beauty that is SEMBALANCE,
we need to share the story that has shaped and
influenced our lives. Richenda Eddy is the Group
CEO, a lady who spent her early childhood in Zanzibar
surrounded by the Ocean, marine life and exploring the
reefs, later to have sailed across Oceans, seas for a period
of 8 years.
CLYDE EDDY- INSPIRATIONAL DIRECTOR
Clyde Eddy is our Inspirational Director and his
background is also maritime having spent most of his
childhood sailing on Dhows and exploring the reefs
within the Lamu Archipelago and later sailed across
oceans on one of the original Tall ships.
During these ventures, we were surrounded by the beauty
of the yellow/ golden/ red sunrises and sunsets, many
different blues / greens of the oceas and seas, Shooting
stars and the odd glimpse of the green flash on the
horizon attracted us to the amazing beauties of the earth.
Semblance evolved from these experiences. The cordless
Insight Led lights represent these amazing beauties.
From all the various colours, yellows/orange/reds
represent the amazing sunsets, blues of the oceans,
reefs, coves, bays, greens, pinks, from the coral gardens
experienced within the Indian Ocean.
4. Richenda has been the Director for Msparks Electrical Ent
LTD/ Msolar Africa for 10 years having the knowledge of
the solar industry and LED lighting was introduced to Nigel
Fawkes from Insight cordless by UKTI to partner up and
introduce the Cordless LED lights into East Africa.
Clyde on the other hand completed BTEC Art and Design,
sailed across the Indian Ocean to Perth, Austraila,
travelled to Queensland, then onto Bali, Thailand,
Laos and Vietnam collecting wares to sell. With Clydes
experience in the Art & Design and travelling the world he
has a passion and a trader‘s eye for beauty.
His exotic mix blended with years of love for this beautiful
region is the genesis behind the launch of SEMBLANCE.
Sembalance is an indigenous Kenyan company fueled by a
Passion for all that is beautiful about this wonderful region
of the world. It’s not so much a BUSINESS but a LOVE for
the beauty that can be created when you are in harmony
with your surroundings.
The product is world class, developed by people who
have worked in the Hospitality industry for a lifetime and
manufactured by craftsmen who developed the concept
of an eco friendly table lighting solution that offers a
safer and more effective solution than candlelight. Today
the product is in use creating ambient mood lighting to
support some of the most luxurious brands of the world.
Semblance is also underpinned by the group’s parent
company, a Solar Lighting business that has been
pioneering the concept of solar lighting across East Africa
for two decades.
