Social Networks are the websites which allow users to upload
their contents such as Blogs, texts, pictures, videos and location
etc to the web. The main advantage of social media is we can
ignore the traffic to the content viewing.
It is considered as one to many communication methods as
people can only repsond and comment on the content which we
own and later we decide to write/record/delete the response or
media by ourself.
Social Media in Real Time
In todays technical world it is easy to communicate from
different locations using social networking sites such as
facebook, Flickr, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, Pinterest etc.
All above networking sites have gained popularity throughout
the world in regards with their applications functionality and is
usage.
Advantages Of Social Media
Increasing the brand awareness by implementing some digital
marketings methods to raise the companies visibility and
awareness of the brand performing in the marketing.
Exclude more inbound traffic : When people become aware of
the brand then there will be less traffic of accessing and
marketing them in users perspective patterns.
Search engine popularity and ranks can be raised by positioning
the social media importance in business.
Disadvantages:
Decreases the F2F communication which is a main important
task to be done when there is a need of interacting in presence.
Improves lazyness towards achieving aspects as the interaction
is all online which makes individual become lazy of getting up
and solving any issue.
Decreases interactions of friends, family closeness when there
is only socially interacting online.

These are the websites which allow people to interact with each
other and connect anywhere may be virtually or by sharing the
content. Also helps in making friends and relations all over the
globe.The most used social networking site is facebook ,
twitter, google etc(Ahmad & Ateeq, 2011).
Every social networking sites are raising their subscribers daily
due to the fact that they are very easy to interact from anywhere
in the world.

known to users where we can learn how to interact with friends,
family etc.
It also helps us to write, read and take pics of any important
stuff sent by any individual. The main advantage of using this
sites is that they will make some important comments or send
the documents.
This social networking site also advanced in making some good
donations to charity by posting socially in the sites where
people are reacting.
Advantages Of Social Networking Sites
There are many reasons why someone may choose to take
advantage of social networks online.
Worldwide Connectivity: No matter if you are searching for a
former college roommate, your first grade teacher, or an
international friend, no easier or faster way
Commonality of Interest :When you opt to participate in a
social network community, you can pick and choose individuals
whose likes and dislikes are similar to yours and build your
network around those commonalities.

Real-Time Information Sharing: Many social networking sites
incorporate an instant messaging feature, which lets people
exchange information in real-time via a chat(Brubaker, 1993).
Targeted Advertising: Whether we are non-profit organization
that needs to get the word out about an upcoming fundraiser or
a business owner marketing a new product or service, there's no
better way than social media to get our message in front of
everyone.

Cyberbullying and Crimes Against Children:Use of social
networks may expose individuals to other forms of harassment
or even inappropriate contact.
Risks of Fraud or Identity Theft: Whether you like it or not, the
information you post on the Internet is available to almost
anyone who is clever enough to access it
Time Waster: Business Insider reports that social media is the
most popular use of the Internet - surpassing email - and
smartphones and other mobile devices
Challenges
Maintaining brand reputation: It’s a daunting prospect to hold a
brand’s entire reputation in your hands. However, for anyone
tweeting on behalf of an organisation, this is often the reality.
As this responsibility can fall on a variety of shoulders – from
experienced editors to inexperienced social media execs – it is
vital that brands set up proper guidelines for all employees to
follow.
Ensuring consistency and conversation The temptation to use
social media solely as a broadcasting platform is
undeniable. While promoting products or campaigns is an
integral part of a brand's strategy, ensuring content is both
relevant and valuable is vital.Instead of basic self-promotion,
the challenge for companies is to find ways to create content
that reflects its brand values and personality, as well as
encourages conversation (Scanfeld et al., 2010).

Create an account on Facebook, Myspace, or any online social
networks that may be relevant to your specialization and the
patients you advise. Accounts can be set up as profile pages,
describing an individual, or as a corporate or (secondary) page.
A secondary account can be created in order to keep your
profile professional and public while also being able to maintain
a private life.
Provide information about your expertise along with a statement
that includes advice that you would provide for others including
websites that you have seen provide accurate health
information. By posting references to websites that are
reputable sources for health information (such as the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention websites), health providers will
be able to reduce the impact of consumers receiving inaccurate
health information online.

willing to receive emails, and how often you plan to respond to
their messages. Set your profile security settings to a level
according to your comfort. Provide information about your
specialty and background. It is important to set up security

social networking technologies (such as through multi-media
posts or blog updates) could potentially increase patients for
providers who want to expand their practice.
Conclusion
Online consumers of health information are at risk because they
are using disreputable health information sources to guide their
health decisions and behaviors. This report has offered practical
advice on how health information providers can use online
social networking technologies to direct consumers to reputable
health information sites in order to curb this problem. We
believe these steps will be in the best interest of both health
providers and patients, and will be a cost-effective approach to
reduce the consequences of patients receiving inaccurate online
health information.
