2. Some Background
Starting in the late 1800’s Western culture embraced the “death of God”
viewpoint. Science came to view what we observe in nature was solely
explained by human reason.
Science and religion were viewed as incompatible
Under the Enlightenment science became a discipline that separated from
a belief in God. Trust in reason alone. Anything explained as supernatural
became viewed as spurious based on superstition or speculation.

3. The founders of modern science such as Newton, Boyle, Hooke, and
Harvey accepted the belief God had created the natural world. To seek the
hidden rational truths of His world was an honorable pursuit.
To them nature was governed by certain invisible laws that awaited to
be discovered. God was one of order, rationality, and truth.

4. A) The First Discovery
“The Acceptance by Science of the Big Bang Theory”
In the 1970’s the scientific consensus concluded the Universe began with
a massive explosion. This is known as The Big Bang Theory.

5. All of the current and past matter in the Universe came into existence at
the same time. Matter was compacted into a very small ball with infinite
density and intense heat. Suddenly, it began expanding, and the universe
as we know it began.

Creator.

“The Fine-Tuning Mystery”
The laws of physics govern our
expanding universe. numerous
features of the universe have
extremely narrow ranges that are
absolutely essential for life, or
complicated chemistry, to exist,
and hence any possible form of life.
How does such precise order come out of chaos?

7. Anthropic Coincidences
The universe depends on a combination of forces
and properties. An exceedingly implausible balance
occurs among them. They are called the Anthropic
Coincidences.
Complex chemistry and life would simply not exist.
Theistic design offers a sensible explanation for
anthropic fine-tuning. The rules of nature and the
entire universe, are governed by a mind.
The types of fine-tuning include the laws of physics, such as gravity, nuclear
forces, electromagnetism, and quantum mechanics, as well as the initial
conditions of matter and energy at the beginning of the universe.

8. The universe’s expansion rate is fine-tuned. The
expansion rate of the universe, if too fast, would
cause the universe to dissipate too quickly for
galaxies to form. If too slow, matter would
clump together too much, and galaxies would
never form.

How did nonlife give life? Once alive how does life provides processes to
sustain life? How does it reproduce itself?

Evolution theory has trouble explaining sudden nonlife
