3. Banamex, Mexico's second largest bank behind BBVA Bancomer. The Banamex Financial Group
was purchased by Citigroup in August 2001. It continues to operate as a Citigroup subsidiary. Banamex
gradually introduced several financial product innovations to the Mexican market including savings
accounts, personal credit lines, credit cards, and ATM banking of the Data from UNIX flat files into the Data
warehouse. Strategic decision was taken on Datoteca warehouse to reengineer its current Legacy Platform
to State of Art Architecture and Platform. Current COBOL based Applications – Thematic’s and Information
Model's running against DB2 and storing information in DB2 will be rewritten as Ab Initio based
ETL storing data in Teradata Appliance. Logical data model will remain as is. Data will be forklifted manually
from DB2 to Teradata and BI Applications Proccessing from Mainframe Cobol to Ab Initio.
Responsibilities:
 Working as a Onsite lead for the key application SAT from Mexico.
 Supporting the code built by four different vendors.
 Gathering SAT yearly requirements from the client’s team.
 Worked on various Ab initio graphs to create , change as per the new requirements.
 Fixing bugs and coordinating between different teams DEV, Source and Business teams.
 Improvising the existing process by performance tuning of the graphs.
 Created a wrapper script to perform file and table purging based on the age of file/retention.
 Automation of Ab initio graphs using Autosys Jobs.
 Unit testing in SIT , UAT and initial support in Production.
Banamex - Datoteca Migrating from Mainframes to ETL using Ab Initio
