To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter on behalf of Pınar Temoçin. I have known Ms. Temoçin since the
academic year 2010-2011, when she applied for the Erasmus Exchange Program as an
undergraduate student in the Department of Philosophy at Ege University, Turkey. In my
capacity as the academic coordinator of the Erasmus Program, I followed her impressive
progress. She was accepted to the University of Cologne, Germany, where she took a
variety of courses, reflecting the broad spectrum of her interests. While the program
regularly covers a one-term exchange, it can be occassionally extended on the basis of
student’s performance. Ms. Temoçin did exceedingly well in the first semester, and when
she applied for an extension in the second semester, it was unanimously approved by the
academic board of our department.
Upon the succesful completion of her undergraduate studies in philosophy, Ms. Temoçin
attended to a number research and internship programs in the fields of global justice and
community development in various countries, including France, Belgium, the Chech
Republic and Russia. Coming from a philosophy background and having extensively
involved in various international civil society projects, Ms. Temoçin is very well equipped
to pursue a PhD, especially in the broad domain of applied theory. She is very diligent and
focused, capable of weaving together normative analysis and empirical research. I strongly
recommend her to your program. I am confident that, if accepted, she will thrive on the
challenge.
Please contact me if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Serdar Tekin
