This study examined the relationship between glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels and serum triglyceride levels in 140 patients with type 2 diabetes. The mean HbA1c was 8.5% and mean triglyceride level was 171.3 mg/dL. There was a positive correlation between HbA1c and triglyceride levels, with higher HbA1c associated with higher triglycerides. The study demonstrated that poor glycemic control, as indicated by elevated HbA1c, is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease possibly through effects on triglyceride levels.

The importance of sex and gender in medical research.
For many years it was widely assumed that the occurrence and outcome of disease was the same for women and men.
Our understanding was that studies involving only men would be equally relevant for women. In the last two decades however, it has been shown that this assumption is highly prejudice and can have a detrimental impact on the health of women.
It is, therefore, really important to incorporate a sex and gender research lens in to medical research.
First, Kelly makes the important distinction between sex and gender and how this can impact medical diagnosis, treatment and outcomes.
Then, she identifies how the incorporation of sex and gender into research has allowed for advancements across healthcare. Improved accuracy, avoiding misinterpretation, reduced unintentional bias and greater social equity to name a few.

Diabetic is a well known public health problem of today. There are many risk factors of it, which can be identified in pre-diabetic state. So the present study was conducted with the aim to know the status of anthropometric and haematological parameters in pre-diabetic states. For this hospital based study pre-diabetic subjects were identified from first degree relatives of type 2 DM Patients, enrolled in diabetic research centre P.B.M. hospital Bikaner. Relevant investigations were done. Data thus collected on semi-structured questionnaire and analysed using content analysis. Data analysis revealed that although mean Body Mass Index (BMI) was within normal range but Waist circumference (WC), West Hip (W/H) Ratio, Systolic blood pressure were higher than the normal range accepted for that parameter. But mean value of all the studied haematological parameter were within the normal range accepted for that parameter. So it can be conclude that anthropology of an individual may be associated with the pre-diabetic state. Hypertension was found in 25.35% of pre-diabetics. Further researches are necessary to find out this possible association of anthropologic parameter and pre-diabetic state.Cardoriumm Plus NIMS study interim report 14032016

3) Differences in diabetes incidence between Parkinson's patients and controls were greatest near the time of Parkinson's diagnosis, suggesting detection bias rather than a causal relationship.

An evidence based study of autonomic dysfunction in children
Aim: The aim of the present study was to perform the set of standard autonomic function
tests in children with a family history of hypertension and compare the results with
children of normotensive parents.
Background: Hypertension is considered one of the highest causes of morbidity
worldwide and it becomes one of the leading causes of death due to cardiovascular and
renal failure. Hypertension can be especially hard to manage when combined with other
disorders, such as diabetes or obesity. Most of the children with a family history of
hypertension forms the risk factor for being hypertensive in future life.
Results: The study included 60 young and healthy children. Out of them, 30 children were
selected based on their family history of hypertension while the remaining were the
children of normotensive parents. Thesubjects were selected based on exclusion-inclusion
criteria. All the children underwent for a set of autonomic function tests which are noninvasive, simple and comfortable. Results showed that children with a family history of
hypertension have abnormal values on autonomicfunction testing, when compared with
children of normotensive parents. The results were obtained using ANOVA and student‘t’
–test, to study the significance of autonomic parameters.
Conclusion: This study stated that the children with family history of hypertension
experienced mild to moderate autonomic fluctuations in early age which may make them
more susceptible to hypertension in their future life

This study investigated whether early second trimester lipid profiles are associated with later glucose tolerance and risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Researchers analyzed serum samples from over 800 pregnant women collected in early second trimester and at 28 weeks. Mass spectrometry identified specific lipid species correlated with 1-hour post-glucose load levels in the discovery cohort. Five of these lipids were independently associated with glucose levels and GDM risk in the validation cohort. The four most predictive lipids modestly improved prediction of GDM risk over clinical factors alone. The results suggest certain early lipids may help identify later GDM risk.

This study compared cardiovascular responses to exercise between normotensive offspring of normotensive parents and normotensive offspring of hypertensive parents. It found that resting diastolic blood pressure was significantly higher in offspring of hypertensive parents. During a 6-minute walk test, there was a decreased diastolic blood pressure response to exercise in offspring of hypertensive parents. However, the distance covered during the test did not differ between groups. Phase 3 protocol

The study aimed to evaluate and compare serum C-reactive protein (CRP) levels in subjects with chronic periodontitis, aggressive periodontitis, and healthy controls. 45 subjects aged 25-50 were divided into three groups based on their periodontal status. Clinical parameters were recorded and blood samples were collected to measure CRP levels. Results showed significantly higher mean CRP levels in subjects with chronic and aggressive periodontitis compared to controls. CRP levels were higher in chronic periodontitis subjects compared to aggressive periodontitis, but the difference was not statistically significant. The study concluded that periodontitis is associated with increased serum CRP levels compared to healthy controls.

This study investigated cardiovascular and gastrointestinal outcomes in clopidogrel users who were also taking proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) using a large cohort of patients in the Netherlands. The study found that clopidogrel users who were also taking PPIs had a 75% higher risk of cardiovascular events compared to clopidogrel-only users. However, the study had limitations such as channeling bias since PPI users had more risk factors, and residual confounding since important risk factors could not be adjusted for. While providing useful insights, the study's findings on the risks of PPI co-administration should be interpreted cautiously due to its limitations.

Diabetic is a well known public health problem of today. There are many risk factors of it, which can be identified in pre-diabetic state. So the present study was conducted with the aim to know the status of anthropometric and haematological parameters in pre-diabetic states. For this hospital based study pre-diabetic subjects were identified from first degree relatives of type 2 DM Patients, enrolled in diabetic research centre P.B.M. hospital Bikaner. Relevant investigations were done. Data thus collected on semi-structured questionnaire and analysed using content analysis. Data analysis revealed that although mean Body Mass Index (BMI) was within normal range but Waist circumference (WC), West Hip (W/H) Ratio, Systolic blood pressure were higher than the normal range accepted for that parameter. But mean value of all the studied haematological parameter were within the normal range accepted for that parameter. So it can be conclude that anthropology of an individual may be associated with the pre-diabetic state. Hypertension was found in 25.35% of pre-diabetics. Further researches are necessary to find out this possible association of anthropologic parameter and pre-diabetic state.Cardoriumm Plus NIMS study interim report 14032016

1) Men with a history of type 2 diabetes had a 34% increased risk of Parkinson's disease compared to non-diabetic men.
2) The highest risk was seen in those with short-duration, older-onset diabetes without complications.
3) Differences in diabetes incidence between Parkinson's patients and controls were greatest near the time of Parkinson's diagnosis, suggesting detection bias rather than a causal relationship.
Using PROs to measure secondary endpoints

An evidence based study of autonomic dysfunction in children
Aim: The aim of the present study was to perform the set of standard autonomic function
tests in children with a family history of hypertension and compare the results with
children of normotensive parents.
Background: Hypertension is considered one of the highest causes of morbidity
worldwide and it becomes one of the leading causes of death due to cardiovascular and
renal failure. Hypertension can be especially hard to manage when combined with other
disorders, such as diabetes or obesity. Most of the children with a family history of
hypertension forms the risk factor for being hypertensive in future life.
Results: The study included 60 young and healthy children. Out of them, 30 children were
selected based on their family history of hypertension while the remaining were the
children of normotensive parents. Thesubjects were selected based on exclusion-inclusion
criteria. All the children underwent for a set of autonomic function tests which are noninvasive, simple and comfortable. Results showed that children with a family history of
hypertension have abnormal values on autonomicfunction testing, when compared with
children of normotensive parents. The results were obtained using ANOVA and student‘t’
–test, to study the significance of autonomic parameters.
Conclusion: This study stated that the children with family history of hypertension
experienced mild to moderate autonomic fluctuations in early age which may make them
more susceptible to hypertension in their future life

This study investigated whether early second trimester lipid profiles are associated with later glucose tolerance and risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Researchers analyzed serum samples from over 800 pregnant women collected in early second trimester and at 28 weeks. Mass spectrometry identified specific lipid species correlated with 1-hour post-glucose load levels in the discovery cohort. Five of these lipids were independently associated with glucose levels and GDM risk in the validation cohort. The four most predictive lipids modestly improved prediction of GDM risk over clinical factors alone. The results suggest certain early lipids may help identify later GDM risk.

This study compared cardiovascular responses to exercise between normotensive offspring of normotensive parents and normotensive offspring of hypertensive parents. It found that resting diastolic blood pressure was significantly higher in offspring of hypertensive parents. During a 6-minute walk test, there was a decreased diastolic blood pressure response to exercise in offspring of hypertensive parents. However, the distance covered during the test did not differ between groups. GASTROINTESTINAL INFECTIONS result from the ingestion of pathogens that cause infections at the level of this tract, generally being transmitted by food, water and hands contaminated by microorganisms such as E. coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio cholerae, Campylobacter, Staphylococcus, Rotavirus among others that are generally contained in feces, thus configuring a FECAL-ORAL type of transmission.
Among the factors that lead to the occurrence of gastrointestinal infections are the hygienic and sanitary deficiencies that characterize our markets and other places where raw or cooked food is sold, poor environmental sanitation in communities, deficiencies in water treatment (or in the process of its plumbing), risky hygienic-sanitary habits (not washing hands after major and/or minor needs), among others.
These are generally consequences (signs and symptoms) resulting from gastrointestinal infections: diarrhea, vomiting, fever and malaise, among others.
The treatment consists of replacing lost liquids and electrolytes (drinking drinking water and other recommended liquids, including consumption of juicy fruits such as papayas, apples, pears, among others that contain water in their composition).
To prevent this, it is necessary to promote health education, improve the hygienic-sanitary conditions of markets and communities in general as a way of promoting, preserving and prolonging PUBLIC HEALTH.
Gastritis and Gastric Health
Gastric Health is one of the most relevant concerns in human health, with gastrointestinal infections being among the main illnesses that affect humans.
Among gastric problems, we have GASTRITIS AND GASTRIC ULCERS as the main public health problems. Gastritis and gastric ulcers normally result from inflammation and corrosion of the walls of the stomach (gastric mucosa) and are generally associated (caused) by the bacterium Helicobacter pylor, which, according to the literature, this bacterium settles on these walls (of the stomach) and starts to release urease that ends up altering the normal pH of the stomach (acid), which leads to inflammation and corrosion of the mucous membranes and consequent gastritis or ulcers, respectively.
In addition to bacterial infections, gastritis and gastric ulcers are associated with several factors, with emphasis on prolonged fasting, chemical substances including drugs, alcohol, foods with strong seasonings including chilli, which ends up causing inflammation of the stomach walls and/or corrosion. of the same, resulting in the appearance of wounds and consequent gastritis or ulcers, respectively.
