• Daily testing of gas/diesel generators consists of various functionality checks, load
testing (including transient responses), tuning of engines (gas engines), working with
governors and AVR’s and programming ECM’s and user interface controllers.
• With demanding targets a quick diagnosis is required when it comes to fault finding and
rectifying.
• This role has taken my skills to a new level, and I now have a better understanding of
synchronising and load sharing backed up with experience.
• I was sent to Japan to provide support to AI for the commissioning of 100MW Gas
Aggreko Apprenticeship Programme (July 2008 – July 2011)
• Participated in a 3-6 month rotation programme, which allowed us to gain knowledge
and experience working on gas products, diesel products, non-power products and
control panels.
• Received training to become proficient in reading and fully understand schematic
drawings.
• Participated in Leadership training in Brathay centre in the lake district
